Adopted Kitties

Update: Cute, playful "Saki" went to her forever home on 8/12. Her new family writes that they have become very attached to her. "She's just so loving and sweet. I think her favorite game is either hide and seek or chasing the laser pointer. She still loves to chase her tail though and it's way too cute!"

Update: Handsome Romeo - quite the lover - found a home very quickly! He went home on 8/9 and his new family is 'in love'!

Update: We've had Avalon since she was 2 weeks old (she's now a 2 year old!) and she finally found her wonderful forever home!! Avalon was adopted on 8/3 - her new family agrees she's a laser light champion if there ever was one. They took her introduction to the household slowly and it's paid off :-)

Update: Sunshine - a stunning medium haired calico was everyone's 'bet' to be the first one adopted from her litter. Sugar and Ginger however beat the 'odds' and were adopted just an hour before their sister! Sunshine found herself a wonderful home on 7/26.

Update: Sugar and Ginger (sisters) were adopted together! Their new mommy tells us they are both having a blast playing and exploring in their new home! 7/26

Update: All of our kitties are special but some just work their ways deep into your heart. Marshmallow is just such a kitty. She came into us very sick (URI, eye infections, ear infections) but was a love throughout. Once she was well and had full roam of my house she became the ultimate lap cat - always curled up in my lap :-) One of our wonderful volunteers has a neighbor that was looking for a lap cat and Marshmallow was of course looking for a lap to fill on a permanent basis. She went home on 7/26 and we miss her! However we're really happy she's found an amazing home!

Update: Handsome Zeus managed to find his forever home without attending a single adoptathon! His foster mom, Meg wrote up a such wonderful description of him that his future family fell in love with him online :-) The meet and greet went really well and Zeus went home on 7/23!

Update: Our wonderful special needs kitty Weeble was adopted on 7/12. His new family just adores him and has trouble imagining life without him! All of Hobbes House is celebrating!

Update: Beautiful Bibbidi got an application before she was even ready for adoption. I'm pleased to report that she went home on 7/7. Her new family just adored her at the meet and greet. They tell me she comes when called and purrs loudly and will snuggle readily. She's apparently having a great time exploring her new home and getting to know her new doggy friend!

Update: Pumpernickel charmed her way into her forever home on 7/5. Her new daddy writes that she's settling in just fine and enjoying lots of loving! Apparently she's taken over his recliner and is having a blast playing with her new toys.

Update: Boo and Little Pumpkin Pie went home together on 7/5! Their new family tells us they are having a blast pouncing and playing together!

Update: Handsome Nerf went to his forever home on 6/28. His wonderful new mommy fell in love with him first online then in person :-) I know he's gone to a great home!

Update: Tinker went to her forever home on 6/24. She was the first 'Toy' kitten to be adopted!

Her new family writes: Tinker is absolutely precious .... we love ... love ... love her! She is sweet, playful and smart. She's so ... so happy here ... purring all the time. She really enjoys having the run of our house. She uses her scratching pads....plays with all of her toys ...eats and drinks really well ... she is just so good. Christian is a delighted little boy, he loves playing with her and snuggling when she's sleepy. She sleeps in his room at night and is so quiet and good. She wakes him up in the morning around 7 am when she's ready for breakfast. We just adore her .... she has really captured our hearts.

Update: King Arthur found a wonderful home on Father's Day! His new family writes "Arthur is wonderful and we have all fallen in love with him. You are so right, he is the most loving affectionate kitty! The kids giggled while Arthur rubbed them all over. Adam kept saying 'he likes me, he really likes me'" Aw what a great update!!

Update: This sweet pair of tabbies went to their new forever home together! Their new daddy tells us Nalu has claimed his official position lap position. They are both settling in well! 6/14

Update: Sweet Smokey is one of our older kitties (14 years old). We were all so excited when he got an application - so many people don't want to adopt an older kitty even though they have so much love to give. Smokey is now in a wonderful home enjoying tons of loving!! 6/12

Update: Beautiful, outgoing, playful Macaroon had no trouble charming her way into her forever home! I'm not sure if it was love at first site or at first cuddle. Her new mommy adopted "Lilianna" from us previously. I'm told they are having a blast chasing each other around! 6/8

Update: Another set of previous adopters (they adopted Creamsicle now Praline back in November) came to us looking for another kitty! They met both Macaroon and Samoa and fell in love with sweet Samoa. They really liked Macaroon too but felt she was probably too playful for their household! I'm so pleased this wonderful couple adopted Samoa - I know she's in a great home! She's adapting well to her new surroundings. Creamsicle/ Praline is taking her time making friends but I'm confident she'll come around and soon they'll be buddies 6/4.

Update: Sweet but shy BW went home on 6/2. His new mommy had adopted "Squat" (now Lucie) from us previously. She wanted Lucie to have a buddy! BW knew a wonderful home when he saw it - he took to her immediately!

Update: Oreo was adopted by a wonderful couple who just fell in love with her! They have a soft spot for special needs kitties. Previously they had adopted our Pegasus and they were looking for a playmate for her. Oreo captured their hearts and they weren't worried one bit about her being deaf! They've already written to tell me how much they love her and that "she and Peg-a-boo have been chasing each other around like stampeding buffalo." I have to admit I laughed out loud at that one. Sounds like they are all having a blast! 5/29

Update: King Arthur went home on 5/18 - just a few hours later I got a phone call from his new family raving about how wonderful he is and how happy they were to have him as a member of their family! Update King Arthur was returned on 5/24. His new daddy had 3 massive asthma attacks and is clearly too allergic to have a kitty :-(

Update: Sweet Dandelion's picture and description captured her future mommy's heart. Then they met at an adoptathon and you could just tell they were meant for each other. Her new mommy understands that it will take Dandelion longer than usual to adjust to a new home. She's ready and willing to give Dandelion plenty of love and time. I couldn't be happier (although we really miss Dandelion!) 5/17

Update: Beautiful Domino was one of our longer term kitties and we're all really excited she found a forever home. A lovely couple came in to meet Lily and while they were there they met the other foster kitties at that location. Domino knew a great family when she saw them. She followed them around asking for attention and stole their hearts! IMO Domino is one smart kitty!

Update: Loving Nori had no trouble finding a home. She just adores people and other animals so when a family came in looking for a friend for their Bishon it was no surprise that Nori stepped up to the plate. The humans had already fallen in love with her so it was time to see how she did with their dog. We don't normally introduce dogs and cats at adoptathons however I knew Nori had liked our dogs so I let them smell each other - and all was well ! 5/10

Update from Nori's new family: Nori is precious! She is a non- stop purr machine, is already sitting and cuddling with us a little and is so sweet that she just melts our hearts. Dexter (our bichon frise puppy) is literally bouncing off the walls - he's so happy to have a friend! They chase each other, wrestle together, follow each other around and rest together. Dexter licks Nori's ears and face and she loves it. Nori loves to climb on everything adn we let her go anywhere she wants except that we squirt her when she goes on the dining room table (thanks for giving us that tip about squirting!). We can't thank you enough for making it possible for us to have such a wonderful addition to our family - she is a joy to all of us.

Another update - this one from Nori's new daddy: Sue and I wanted to let you know that Nori is FANTASTIC. What a sweetheart! She has won our hearts already. We absolutely love her and we could not be more pleased with her. Thank you for letting us adopt her. She is a perfect fit and we could not be more happy.

Update: It's kind of ironic that Andy and Starz (brothers born in a Hobbes House foster home on 8/11) both found their forever homes just 10 days apart. Starz is an only kitty in his new home but he's got a 3 year old little human friend. His new mom reports the boys are a great match - they wear each other out :-)

Update: Andy charmed his way into his forever home :-) Now he has a new kitty playmate "Otis" and two humans who adore him! 4/16

Update: Petunia went home on 4/7. She's a sweet Long Haired little girl (only 6 pounds and 6 years young). Petunia's new mommy fell in love with her at one of our adoptathons and just couldn't stop thinking about her! Her new name is Stella and she is 'princess of the household'!

Here's her update: Petunia is doing very well. She has not had any fear at all about learning her way around our house. She spent about an hour skulking around surveying her kingdom (because she is the queen!) and is now perfectly content to flop down in the middle of the kitchen floor, on one of our beds, or wherever she deems appropriate (the spot where she will get the most petting at the moment).

Update: Churchill went home on 4/5 - his new home is 4 hours away in Central Virginia! The great news is he's settled right in and his new mommy loves him. We found a great home for Churchill - he needed a quieter home! He and his new mommy have lot's of play time and grooming time (important with that Maine Coon coat). He's such a sweet boy I'm so happy he found just the right home!

Update: Ah Prince Carlos our boy with tons of personality. He charmed his way into a home ! In fact they just couldn't wait to take him with them. I'm eagerly awaiting an update! 4/3

Update from his new family: His motor purrs like a kitten :-) You weren't joking about him flopping down and rolling over on you Plus I might add he has given plenty of laughs, he's a crazy kitten that's full of life. When he's not scouting about you can bet on it that you'll have him on you!

Update: Marabella and O'Malley's new family came in to meet Marabella and ended up falling for both of them! This wonderful brother/ sister pair has gone to live with an amazing homeschooling family where no doubt they will have lots of love and attention! 4/3 Update from their new family - they are in love with both of them - in fact they told me (on the phone) they feel like the 'luckiest family in the world' because they got to adopt them! Marabella is now "Mirabella" and O'Malley is now "Sizzles O'Malley".

Here's their update: They are doing beautifully and both are such a dream. It took Mirabella a little bit more time to acclimate to her new home... (within 20 minutes, Sizzles was on our laps and purring). They reassured each other and he kept enticing Mirabella to play. They are so sweet together. They are so communicative with us (Mirabella's little chirps), so affectionate and just sweethearts. We feel lucky indeed. They both tolerate (and seem to enjoy) Celia's undying attention and need to hold them. We love them. Thank you for sharing such loves! We feel whole again.

Update: Sweet Finn's new mommy was really excited to take him home on 4/3. She's written to tell us that he's adjusted really well! He's up for playtime pretty much any time and he was very social with their weekend houseguest. Needless to say they are really enjoying their new family member!

Update: Handsome Winter charmed his way into his forever home on 4/3. I can't wait to hear how he's doing. We miss him! I heard from his new family - he's taken over the house - let the dog's know who's boss and basically made himself at home :-) They adore him!!

Update: Our beautiful Mariposa found a home quickly. I can't say I was surprised she stole someone's heart - she's just a love of a girl! 3/22

Update: I had a feeling our beautiful Manx wasn't going to be with us long and I was right! Peter charmed his way into his adopter's heart very quickly! 3/16

Update: Colonel Mustard has personality to spare! Finding him a home would have normally been 'a snap' ....however our Colonel is special he has cataracts and might require surgery in a few years. So while he charmed everyone at adoptathons - most people casually ran for the hills when they read his description. But there was no scaring off his adopters. Nope they loved him and were not daunted by his possible future medical needs. Colonel Mustard went home on 3/15 and I've received many wonderful updates and pictures from them :-)

Update: London's beautiful looks caught her new family's eye but it was her sweet personality that captured their hearts! London went home on 3/15 and is completely at home in her new surroundings. She's even got a new buddy a small dog!

Update: Professor Plum is one of those kitties that was bound to find a loving home with no problem. He's such an outgoing love of a boy! His new family just adores him!! 3/6

Update: We've had Black Dragon since he was one day old - he just had his first birthday 2/21 and lo and behold he found his forever home! Black Dragon has gone to live with one of our kitties that was adopted several months ago "Clarinet" (he's now Domino). Jeremy really loves Black Dragon in fact I think I can safely say it was love at first sight. Now we just need to make sure Clarinet/ Domino falls in love with his new 'brother' 3/2

Update: Squat was one of our original Hobbes House kitties so we're beyond excited she found a home. Squat's new name is Lucie. She's adjusting well to her new home in fact I think she's taken over :-) 3/1

Update - I saw Squat's new mommy on 3/15 and she just raved about how wonderful "Lucie" is!!! I'm so happy they found each other!

Update: Handsome sweet Raja (can you tell I'm biased he was my foster!) found his forever home on 3/1. His new family is wonderful and they clearly adore him - who could ask for anything more? I'm so pleased he finally found a home although we miss him a lot around here!

Update: Blue Moon went home shortly after his brother, Orange Sherbert. His new daddy writes that he's doing really well and has taken over the place. He also mentioned that he has never seen a cat that has no intimidations about going up to strangers! Apparently he had some friends over and Blue Moon (now named Max) went and sat in everyone's lap in turn! 3/1

Update: I bet you guys don't recognize this boy - it's Orange Sherbert - he never even made it onto the web. Orange Sherbert got an application at his first official adoptathon and went home on 2/26!

Update: PollyAnna went home on the same day as her sister Belle (2/23) but to a different home. PollyAnna is a "Hemmingway" kitty with an extra toe on her front feet. Ironically she's gone to a home where she's going to have an almost identical cat brother, Oliver!

Update: Beautiful Belle went to her forever home on 2/23. Her new family was very excited to finally take her home!

Update: Lord Grey went to his forever home on 2/20. They've already renamed him "Eli" after a NY Giants football player. His new mommy writes: "Eli is just awesome! He loves to rub up against our faces and give kisses. He was a very busy boy, checking everything out. He didn't hide once. He spent most of the night on the bed, alternating between sleep and rubbing his face in ours. There is no doubt that Eli will keep us busy- he's one curious and loving boy! We are absolutely in love with him! He is just so cool!"

Update: Miss Scarlett and Prince Azure went to their forever home together on 2/20. Their new daddy has already called to tell me how great they are doing! He said they adjusted very quickly and then he raved about how loving they are :-)

Update: Morgan is one of our longer term fosters - she had the 'disadvantages' of being all black and an adult (black kitties and adults tend to take longer to find forever homes). Everyone admired her at adoptathons because she just loves attention but nobody put in an application in on her until 1/20. A wonderful family fell in love with her! She went home on 1/22

Update: It took Pavarotti awhile to find his forever home (compared to his siblings that were adopted quickly) but I think he struck the 'jackpot' so to speak. A wonderful couple fell in love with him online (and then in person). I think he's gone to a great home! 1/21

Update: Beautiful Solita came into our program and became available for adoption on 1/17. She found her forever home that Sunday and went home on 1/21. Solita is one smart outgoing kitty - she knew she wanted a home and she found one!

Update: Sweet Arwen has been waiting patiently to go to her forever home. The family fell in love with her and Bart at the same time but they had to wait for Arwen to be spayed (and recover). Finally the time arrived and Arwen has gone home! I know she and Bart will have a great time together. 1/21

Update: Trooper was returned to us because the dogs in his adoptive home started to play rough with him (and his buddy Prince Charming). Trooper got an application for a new home on his first weekend out at adoptathons. What can I say he is one charming outgoing boy?!! His new family is lovely and I hope that this time it's his forever home! He went home on 1/19

Update: Gracie found her home in large part due to the 'snow' that we were supposed to have! A lovely couple had applied for Belle online but Belle didn't make it out to the adoptathon due to the possible bad weather. Sweet Gracie was there though showing herself off and just loving the attention she was getting. Lo and behold she found herself a forever home! We sure miss her around here and can't wait for our first update from her forever home! 1/19

Update: Handsome Satsuma was one of those kittens we just couldn't believe hadn't been adopted. We've had him since he was a young kitten. He's a striking boy with a wonderful personality. Turns out that he was just waiting for his future mommy to 'discover' him. She originally applied for our Stormy Weather but he already had multiple applications in on him. I suggested Satsuma and she fell in love. In fact she drove all the way from Wilmington, NC on the day we were supposed to have 2 - 4" of snow to meet him. Naturally she couldn't resist him and he went home with her on 1/19.

Update: Sparkleworks was adopted from her very first adoptathon. There she was scared but so cute and so loving in her adoptathon cage and a wonderful couple fell in love with her! They've promised to send pictures - she was adopted so quickly we didn't even get any for the web! 1/19

Update: Some kitties we just can't understand why they don't get adopted quickly. Others we understand. Pegasus has got the personality of 10 loving kitties but she's also special needs. So people would fall for her at adoptathons then read her description and back away slowly. That is until she got an online application from her new mommy and daddy. I was floored that someone was applying for our special needs girl and went into it a bit wary - I mean in order to adopt "my baby" these were going to have to be rather special folks. We'll ... I met them and fell in love with them. They meanwhile fell in love with "Peg-boo". She went home on 1/15 and we miss her but knowing she's in a wonderful loving home that treasures her for who she is makes it all worthwhile!

#1 We are really enjoying Pegasus. She is not shy at all and is ready to explore. We are still working with Max and Simon (resident cats) before we introduce her but I can honestly say she is ready.

#2 She is doing great. She is the cutest girl in the world. I can't see why she wasn't snatched up before we saw her. She can jump also. I turned my back to her when she is on the bed and she jumped all the way on my back. I put her on the bed and turn my back and she jumps again....funny! She is very inquisitive and explorative. Max is OK with her.....he is more scared than anything else (side note from Karen - Pegasus weighs all of 5 1/2 lbs Max and Simon are both big boys so this is kind of funny!). Simon is the alpha male so he hisses a lot but he is not aggressive. Peg-a-boo just looks at our big cats and doesn't get intimidated when they hiss.

#3 Peg-a-boo is really getting along great with Max and Simon. There is practically no more hissing and they have even started sleeping together. She is so cute. She has this little grunt she lets out when she is ready for attention. Even though we bought her a little litter box she has no problems using all 3 in the house and Max and Simon don't seem to mind. I know she has us wrapped around her finger. We would do anything for her!

Update: There was no doubt on 1/12 - Stormy's first adoptathon - he was going home. Stormy had 'everything' according to many people - a long haired, young (11 weeks) Maine Coon mix...he had multiple applications! In the end a wonderful family got to take him home and they adore him.

Update from his new family: I was wanting to tell you how Wonderful we all think Stormy is. The dog has really loved up to Stormy and Stormy has gotten used to her. He has also taken a real liking to my husband and spent most of the night last night curled up on my husband's chest as they slept together on the couch. Stormy is just doing great and we are so pleased he is with us. Thank you again for adopting him to us. We love him very much.

Update: Sweet Periwinkle found his forever home! It took him a couple of weeks longer than his sisters (Blue and Magenta) but sure enough his family came along and found him! Periwinkle went home on 1/12.

Update from his new family: Snickerdoodle as my daughter has renamed him is doing really well. Such a confident kitty! We opened his crate in Sara's bathroom and he nearly immediately started exploring. Our last cat stayed hidden for 3 days. Everyone loves him and it's like he's been part of the family forever!

Update: Jean Luc's mommy fell in love with him way back in December but then had to go out of town. So she and Jean Luc have been waiting to be together. She was finally reunited with "my little prince" (as she called him) on 1/12.

Update from Jean Luc's new mommy: "Tito" is doing great - he is def a curious little kitty and has adjusted just fine. Surprising as my existing cat Sassy, is not making things easy for him!

He is a blast - very energetic and a lot of spunk - he is not taking Sassy hissing personally and still walks right up to her. They are out and about all day and night together and I couldn't be happier with the progress. He is definitely an outgoing kitty. He is also a big lover!

Update: Handsome Darjeeling went to his third (and hopefully final!) forever home on 1/12.

His new family writes: He is such a great kitty and so loving! Took him a little while to warm up , but he can not quit purring and rubbing up against everything. He is still in the bathroom, but we have introduced him to the dogs a few times and they seem to be really good together...he was rubbing against the big dog this morning. I think he is going to be a great addition to our family.

Update: Prince Charming was returned to us because the dogs in his adoptive home started to play rough with him (and his buddy Trooper). A wonderful young lady fell in love with Prince Charming online and put in an application for him shortly after he was returned. When she came out to meet him it was "a match". I'm not surprised at all that he 'charmed' his way into her heart! Prince Charming went home on 1/12

Update from his new mommy: He is doing really well. The day I brought him home he did not want to stay in the bathroom long. After two hours he was wanting out. I let him out and he checed the place out and in no time he was checking me out as well. He was very playful but sleepy as well. No doubt that he was probably exhausted from his busy day Saturday.

He loves the toys that I brought him and if he is not getting attention from me then he is off batting them around. He loves sleeping in bed with me. He hops up on my bed and crawls under the covers and snuggles under my arm with his head out of the covers. He's like a little person!

Update: Shadow had a plan - hang loose and sooner or later his dream of being an only 'spoiled' kitty would come true. Sure enough on 1/12 it did!

Update: Handsome Bart has found his forever home. A client of Companion Animal Hospital of Wakefield (a vet we work closely with) was looking for a kitten. One of the daughters fell 'in love' with tiny Arwen (she'll be going home with them after she's spayed and recovered) the other daughter (and the mom) fell for Bart! He went home on 1/7

Update: Mimi is the luckiest kitty ever! She was adopted by a wonderful couple who just adored her. Unfortunately their resident cat was scared to death of her (no fault of Mimi's according to the adopters) so they had to return her. I listed her as available for adoption as soon as I knew she was coming back (Thursday night). By Friday morning I had an application for either her or Darjeeling. They liked Darjeeling (and Shadow our other declaw) but they fell for Mimi almost immediately! She came back to us around 11:15 Saturday morning and was settled in their lap by 11:16! 1/5

Update: Gandalf's new family met him on a day when we thought he was already being adopted. That adoption fell through and they came back (just hoping he was still with us) to put in an application for him. Many people have wanted to adopt sweet Gandalf - I'm sure he's gone to a wonderful home! 1/4

Gandalf's new mommy writes: He is doing great and we all just love him! As for the name if it doesn't change he'll be named Buddy because he's everyone's buddy! Anyhow he's the most loving kitty I've known. Our other cat Stormie wasn't too thrilled (with him), she's hissed a few times when he gets too close but never more than that and it doesn't phase Buddy at all. He just looks at her and smiles! He even tried to curl up with her Saturday night on the couch and last night he finally got her to chase him. They've been nose to nose numerous times now without her complaining about it. I think they will be just fine together.

Update: I've heard from Blue's new mommy several times - they adore her!! Blue is such a sweet kitten she's settled in and stolen their hearts. I knew when I met her new family it was going to be a match - I'm so glad they adopted her from us! 12/30

Blue's new family writes: I can never thank you enough for bringing Blue into our lives. We can't begin to say enough as to how much we love her!

Update: Magenta's new family came in and fell in love with her - she was just being herself - curious & happy and they couldn't resist! Blue tried her best to sway them her way but Magenta won their hearts. It all worked out really well since Blue's new family was there too busily falling in love with her! 12/29

Magenta's new mommy writes: Magenta is so adorable. She follows me around and loves to be held. She seems to enjoy her new toys and is eating well.

Update: Dandelion's new mommy fell in love with her online. She came out to meet this sweet but shy at first kitten and fell for her in person too. Dandelion is taking a little while to adjust to her new home however I'm pleased to report her new mommy is being patient with her. And she loves her :-) 12/29

Update: Beautiful Ivy got an application before she was even spayed. We arranged a private meet and greet and needless to say her new daddy fell in love with her. Ivy went home on 12/26 after she had time to recover from being spayed.

Update: Sweet Jasmine has been with us since April and nobody has really shown any interest in her. Then lo and behold one weekend she got 2 applications! Both were excellent. I'm so happy she found her forever home with a wonderful family! 12/15

Update: Two of Sue's kittens have found their forever homes. Halley went home with her new family on 12/8 while Helix went home with his new family on 12/9.

Update: Sweet Frodo got an application right out of the gate so to speak. His new family fell in love with him online and he went home on 12/8!

Update: Sleeping Beauty went to her new home on 12/7! Her new parents were eager to take her home - they just fell in love with her and wanted to cuddle her!

Update: We thought handsome Aragorn would be the first kitten to be adopted from his litter - well we were wrong! He was the last (except for his sister Arwen - she's too small to be spayed)! Go figure! But Aragorn found his home - late on Sunday he caught his future mommy's eye! Aragorn went home on 12/4

Update: Sweet 'Bobblehead' Brigitta has gone home! Many people will remember she went home over the summer but was returned because the resident cat was attacking her. Now Brigitta has found a forever home where she'll be an only kitty! I am sure Brigitta is going to enjoy having lots of one on one attention with her new mommy! 12/3

Update 12/17 I saw Brigitta's mommy over the weekend. She told me Brigitta is doing really well in her new home - which was of course music to my ears. A lot of time we get e-mail updates it's so much fun to actually talk to the adopters face to face and hear all about how our sweet kitties are doing in their forever homes.

Update: Beautiful Macy came back to us a few weeks ago. Her adopters felt that she wasn't happy with their dog. It only took Macy one weekend out to have someone else fall in love with her! Now she's going to be an only kitty I'm sure she's enjoying being the "Princess" of the household! 12/3

Update: Bilbo wasn't even on the website for 24 hours before he got his forever home application. His new family fell in love with his picture and description. They traveled 6 hours to meet him and then took him home! Bilbo went to live in Georgia on 12/2! His new family has already written to say he loves his new home and they adore him!

Update: Baggins caught many people's eyes at his very first adoptathon with his outgoing personality and handsome medium length gray fur. His new mommy and daddy met him, fell in love and applied for him 'quick like a bunny'. Baggins went home on 12/2

Update: Little Papaya (pictured above) and Coney went home together! Their new mommy arranged a private meet and greet before they were even ready for adoption. Then she waited patiently until they were big enough to neuter and ready to go home. She has renamed them Hall (papaya) and Oates (coney) and reports that it's hard to leave them in the morning when she has to go to work! They went home on 12/2

Update: Once upon a time Green Eggs was living outside in a Kroger parking lot. I rescued her two years ago and she's been my foster going out to adoptathons regularly. Many people admired her but nobody took that extra step to adopt my sweet girl. Until recently! My wonderful girl went home on her birthday 12/1 and her new mommy adores her. She writes that she can't believe nobody adopted her before now and they spend their evenings with Green Eggs sitting on her lap :-)

Update: Ragtime (all black) and Jazz came in together and they have been adopted together! How great is that? They are somehow 'now' related to Piccolo since Piccolo's new mommy is Ragtime & Jazz's "Grandmother". Confused yet? Adopted 11/25/07

Update: Our wonderful Boots wanted her own home with humans that were completely devoted to her. She's one of those kitties that just can't get enough attention (and don't want to share with other kitties). Her holiday wish came true when she charmed her forever family on 11/18. They adored her at the adoptathon - we're so happy she's found a wonderful home! Adopted 11/21/07

Update: Handsome Gershwin caught a family's eye online - when they came out to meet him they couldn't help falling in love! I'm so happy he's gone home with them - they are such a wonderful family. I've had Gershwin as my foster since he was 4 weeks old - there IS a forever home out there for each of our kitties. Sometimes it just takes awhile to find it. Adopted 11/21/07

Update: Leia's new family waited patiently to get her. They fell in love with her but she developed an 'icky' eye which we needed to cure before she could be sent home. They tell us she's settling in really well and they love her! Adopted 11/20/07

Update: Phoenix really wanted to be an only cat (sometimes he played rough with other kitties - not meaning to of course) - he got his wish on 11/17 when his new mommy came in and fell in love with him! He went home the following day. She thinks he's the greatest! Adopted 11/18/07

Update: Fabio was one of those kittens that we just couldn't believe hadn't been 'snapped' up by someone. He is such a lap kitty! His new daddy fell in love with him almost immediately - clearly he could see what a love Fabio is! Adopted 11/17/07

Update: Prince Charming and his buddy Trooper have been returned. The dogs in their new home starting going after them. They're back with us safe and sound and looking for a new home!

Update: Millie's family saw her on the web and traveled for quite a distance to come meet her! They fell in love - I hear she's settling in really well in her new home. Adopted 11/11/07

Update: Pompeii knew his forever mommy when he saw her - he reached out of the adoptathon cage to get her attention. She just couldn't stop thinking about the sweet boy who wanted to go home with her so she put in an application on him during the week. We're so pleased Pompeii found his perfect home! Update: Princess has found her castle! Her new family fell in love with her at an adoptathon. They were looking for a lap kitten that adored attention - Princess was clearly the kitty for them! Adopted 11/9.

Update: Star Light Star Bright captured the attention of his new family. They went home and decided that indeed this was the right kitten for their household and came back to adopt him the following weekend (they put in the application online during the week). Adopted 11/4

Update: Scooter's mom came in and casually looked at our kitties. Pretty soon she fell in love with Scooter and called her husband. Scooter went home to 3 other kitties and they are all buddies! Adopted 11/4

Update: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star's new mommy is a live time cat lover. She and Twinkle met and it was love at first sight! Adopted 11/3

Update: Creamsicle's new mom and dad had applied for a kitten ages ago and then decided to wait. When things had settled down in their lives and they saw Creamsicle on our website they fell in love. Her new name is Praline - she's an only kitty and no doubt spoiled rotten! Adopted 11/3

Update: It was only a matter of time before Briar Rose found her forever home. She 'worked' every adoptathon getting attention from everyone. Her new family couldn't resist her! Adopted 11/3

Update: Trooper and his buddy Prince Charming have been returned. The dogs in their new home starting going after them. They're back with us safe and sound and looking for a new home!

Update: Trooper and Prince Charming 'charmed' their new family from the get go. Trooper has already gone home with them (11/2) - he's got two playful dogs to hang out with. Prince Charming is scheduled to go home around 11/17.

Update: MoonShadow's new family came in and met him on Saturday then came back to adopt him on Sunday. Obviously they just couldn't resist his charms. I spoke to his new mommy on the phone and she just couldn't stop talking about how wonderful MoonShadow (now Chester) is. Adopted 10/21

Update: Clarinet went to his forever home on October 20th. He's been adopted by a very nice young man who just fell in love with him. I hear Clarinet is doing very well in his new household! His daddy has renamed him "Domino".

Update: Ronnie went to his forever home on Sunday October 14th. Everyone from adoptathons knows him as our 'opinionated' cat. Ronnie is settling in really well and his new family is thrilled with him - in fact they wrote "it feels like he was the missing piece to our puzzle"

Update: Beautiful Mara went to her forever home on Sunday October 14th. Her new family had been in a few weeks ago and met her - turns out they couldn't resist sweet Mara and they came back to adopt her. Mara is going to be in a busy fun household with 2 twin girls, a young boy and a puppy!

Update: My beloved Applejack found his forever home on October 6th. A couple who have adopted from us previously came back for another kitty and I couldn't be happier they adopted 'my' Applejack!! He's gone to a great home with several other kitties to play with. Anyone who knows 'Apple-papple' knows he enjoys head butting humans for attention and alternating between wrestling and grooming other kitties!

Update: Sable went to her forever home on October 6th to be with one of our Hobbes House kittens "Twilight" (now she's 'Little Mo'). Their new family already adores both of them!!

Update: Cute Topsy Turvy was adopted on October 6th. Her new mommy came in to look at cats / kittens from another group and Topsy caught her eye. Sure enough she couldn't stop thinking about Topsy Turvy and she came back over to us to fill in an application for her!

Update: Sweet Lyla went to her forever home on Monday September 25th! I'm told the kids in her new family are doing their homework in the bathroom (where she's settling in) so they can spend extra time with her - how cute is that?!

Update: Handsome Copper found his forever home on over the weekend... I can't say I'm surprised he's such a sweet boy!

"Thanks so much for checking in - I appreciate it. Copper is doing great. He's made himself at home in my bathroom, and I already had to make a few 'adjustments' due to his curiosity!! He's been eating, drinking, using the litter box, and purring up a storm, so I think he is going to do fine in his new home. Sushi, my other cat, has hissed a few times, but I'm pretty sure she'll come around. She is usually waiting for me when I come out from visiting him, so she is curious as well. I'll keep you posted.

Update: Our beloved little Twilight who bravely fought pneumonia for 3 weeks and won! went to her forever home on September 22nd. She's going to be joined by another of our kitties, Sable in a few days!

"We love her sooooo much!!!! She has just been perfect and has settled in like she's been here forever.

We put her in the downstairs bathroom and would go in every so often to visit with her, then I started to bring her out to snuggle on the sofa with me, then this morning Richard got up and left open the bathroom door and she trotted up the stairs, jumped up onto the bed, sat on my chest and fell asleep!!!!

You can tell that she's had a lot of human contact, she just loves to be with someone, and she's so calm.

We had some friends over for dinner on Saturday night, my friend Maureen (aka Mo) speaks fluent Japenese. I asked her what "peach" was in Japenese, because of Twilights peach markings and apperently Peach in Japenese is "mo-mo", as my friend's name is also Mo we decided to change her name to "mo-mo" or "little mo" as I call her!!!!!!!! So Twilight has now become Japanese!!!!!!

I can imagine that you miss her terribly, I know I would, and she's only been with us a few days, but it's down to you that she was given a second chance in life and your love and care has helped her become the beautiful natured little thing thing that she is today, thank you so much for giving that to her, without you we wouldn't have met her, thank you, thank you thank you!!!!!!!!!"

Update: Cute little Thistle finally went to her forever home on September 22nd. Her new mommy put in an application on her before she was spayed so she's been waiting for her for awhile!

"Thistle (I’ve renamed her Gracie) is doing wonderful. She is such a joy…….quick on the move and checking out everything! She and Dakota are getting along fine – Dakota a little hesitant of her at first, but is now warming up to her. I just love how Gracie likes to cuddle! I’ll be lying in bed or on the couch and she’ll come lay right next to my face. I’ve not had any problems with her scratching the furniture – she uses the scratching post and toys I got for her. She is very social – I am really glad for that as I like my cats to interact and not just be aloof and hiding all the time.

I can definitely tell she got lots of love from you and your family. Thank you for giving her a good home and for letting me adopt her. I am really loving having her! "

Update: Lilianna went to her forever home on September 22nd. It was so busy that day I didn't even get to meet her new family, however her foster mommy loved them!

Update: Sweet little Millie went home on Friday September 21st after her very first adoptathon! Her sister Lyla also has an application in on her so it looks like she's found a home as well. And to add to the excitement Millie's mommy Sable is going home this week!

Update: Blackberry's new mommy Ashley saw him at our adoptathon on Sunday and went home to tell her family about him. They all read his description online and fell in love. Today (9/17) he went home. Even though he was shy when they met him they could tell he was a love. We're going to miss him around here but I know he's gone to a great home!

"He's letting me pet him!!! He doesn't want me to stop now. Yay! He is sooooooo sweet. I'm so happy that he's okay and getting use to everything. I bought him a little condo today and a bed and toy with cat nip. He is happy with them. He still won't let me pick him up but that will come with time. I'm just so happy I can pet him now! Update: Our active, outgoing, shoulder-surfing kitten, Ariel found her forever home on Saturday 9/15. There's only one "Princess" kitten left - Jasmine!

"Ariel is doing well. The past few nights when I get home from work, she will join me on the couch and rub up against me for a few minutes, then she is off to play. She loves chasing around the laser pointer, and I think that she would chase it all day if given the chance. She does not like staying still for very long. She will stretch out on the coffee table or kitchen counter for a few minutes before she is off exploring. She woke me up this morning, which was a first. Apparently, she really enjoys pouncing on my feet as they move under the blanket. She has quite the purr. When I get home, she does not seem to stop purring, whether she is rubbing against me or not. One thing that I noticed that she likes to do is stretch out on the carpet and just kind of drag herself along - I think it's the funniest thing."

Update: Sylvester's new family fell in love with him online and via talking to his foster on the phone. They came out in the middle of the downpour of September 14th (thank you Humberto - we needed the rain but not in the middle of an adoptathon!) and fell in love with him in person. Sylvester has gone home with them - we miss him but I really think he's found a wonderful home!

Update: Claire finally found her forever home and her new family LOVES her!!! We couldn't be happier for her (and them!)

Update: Mirage has been pending for a month now. Her new family fell in love with her online and then at an adoptathon but they were going on a long vacation so we did a delayed go home. On September 11th she went to her forever home and believe me her new family was very excited to finally take her home! It was really sweet to see them all 'reunited'. We enjoyed our 'extra' time with Mirage!

Update: Elina went to her forever home on September 9th. She's gone to live with two boys that couldn't be more excited about their new kitten!

Update: Vader went home with a young couple who was looking for 'the' right kitten. They checked out several kittens including Blackberry, Satsuma, Black Dragon and Twilight but it was Vader who stole their hearts. It was almost an instant bond! September 9th.

Update: Macy has been waiting to go home with her new family (they were on vacation) She's glad to be in her new home with 2 young boys and a very happy set of parents! September 9th. They write "Macy is great - we LOVE her!"

Update: Sparkleberry went to her forever home on September 8th! Her new family was very excited about taking her home!

Update: Aladdin went to his forever home on September 7th. His new family just adores him! They write "What a doll! He is so sweet. Stacia (their adult daughter) spent all day here yesterday and bought him two beautiful softee baby blankets to sleep on. Our grandson and daughter in law came last night along with Stacia's husband and Aladdin was loved to exhaustion. He slept all during supper but was soon up at at it again. Slept with us on the middle pillow all night. Has a gray mouse he loves and plays with for hours. Loves to sit between monitor and keyboard when we're on the computer. Definitely a 'people' cat. He's always by our side. We just love him. Thanks so much!"

Update: Cute General Li Shang went to his forever home on September 5th. He's gone to live with a bunch of other kitty buddies and a dog! His new mommies are completely in love with him! Another update I saw the General (now "Rascal") on Friday and he's doing great! I miss him so much but it's wonderful knowing he's in a home that loves him as much as I do!

Update: Justine and Martell have been returned. Once they've had a bit of time to readjust they'll be ready for adoption again.

Update: Justine and Martell are a bonded sibling pair that had to go to their forever home together. It tends to take longer to adopt out pairs of cats, however we believe that there is a perfect forever home out there for all of our kitties. Justine and Martell went to their forever home (together of course) on September 4th!

Update: Jango went home on August 28th to his new and very excited family! He's the first of the 'Star Wars' kittens to be adopted!

Update: Aurora finally got to go home to her new family on 8/26/07. She's been enjoying her time off from thons (waiting for them to move into their first house!) but now she's ready to settle in with them!

Update: Van Gogh went to his forever home on August 24th. He's going to be living with a wonderful woman who is going to give him plenty of love and time to adjust to his new home. She wants a cat who will just hang out and watch the birds. I know Van Gogh is going to love that!

Update: Pumpkin went to his forever home on August 18th. He's going to be harness trained and will meet patients in hospitals!

Update: Bumbleberry went to her new home on August 14th. She started off slowly but now has 'taken over the house'. I saw her adopters out at Petsmart buying her a huge cat tree - no doubt she's one spoiled little girl!

Update: Bart went to his forever home on August 11th! Conveniently he's going to be living right next door to one of our vets! His new family tells us that they love him ! He's met their dog and their cat and was great with both of them.

Update: Handsome Giorgio has found his forever home. I think it was 'love' at first meeting. The family held off and met other kittens after they met Giorgio but it was clear he had stolen their hearts! We're so happy Giorgio has a wonderful home! 8/10/07

Update: Cinderella went to her forever home on August 7th. Her new mommy is just 'too' excited about adopting her! I know she's going to be one well loved kitten! Her new family wrote to tell me she's doing great around the house and is enjoying 'cuddle time' with them!

Update: Mulan found her family on August 5th! The mom just fell in love with her - I think it was in fact almost love at first site. When she came back later with her boys they were thrilled with her too! They've already dropped me a note letting me know she's settling in well! We miss her around here!!

Update: Darjeeling has found his forever home. I was very sad to let 'my boy' go (we've had him since he was one day old!) but I know he's got a wonderful life ahead of him with his new family (and new cat buddy 'Spec'). Darjeeling is such a love I'm sure he's going to adjust quickly. I can't wait for my first update from his family! 7/30/07

Update: Sparrow went to her forever home on July 29th. Boy does her new mommy adore her! I have a strong feeling Sparrow is about to go from being a 'pirate kitten' to being a princess. All of her new things are PINK!

Update: Enchantress went to her forever home on July 28th. Her new family has promised to treat her like the princess that she is! Enchantress' new family tells us that she is doing well and is a 'wonderful cat to be around'!

Update: Prince Eric went to his forever home on July 24th. His new mommy just adores him - I have no doubt he'll be 'king of the castle' in no time!

Update: Slim has found his forever home! I haven't gotten an update from the adopters yet but I'm sure they are in love with this handsome boy! 7/21/07
