Update: Marissa's new family came out to meet a few of our kitties. She wasn't on their list but I suggested her as a good match for the household. Sure enough her new mommy fell in love with her! She's doing great in her new home -she made friends with the dog almost immediately and is working on 'winning over' the resident cat. Marissa has already established her place on the couch and in bed! What can I say she's a cuddle bug that just loves to be around her people! 1/10
Princess Wildflower & Hunter
- Adopted Together!
Update: Princess Wildflower and Hunter went home together during a whirlwind adoptathon. Princess Wildflower had an application in on her (that applicant is going to adopt Martini) so she had that meet and greet going on - meanwhile Hunter had an application in on him. His applicant decided to adopt both of them (they're foster siblings)! We love it when kitties go home together! 1/10

Update: Saxophone won his adoptive couple's hearts at an adoptathon. They had to do a bit of battle with their apartment complex but they 'won' and were allowed to adopt him! 1/3
Tequila Sunrise and Malibu Sunset - Adopted Together!
Update: Tequila and Malibu had an avalanche of applications and enquiries - I think we had people in 4 different states asking to adopt them as well as many folks right here in NC. They were all "too slow" their new mommy met them at an adoptathon and quickly put in an application for them both. She's called me a couple of times to give us updates and the boys are happy, healthy and settling in well. :-) 1/3
Barton - Adopted!
Update: Barton had a busy weekend - he got two applications! The first applicant had to bow out however his second application worked out beautifully! His new name is Bailey and he's "been with us nearly two weeks and he acts like he has been here all his life" He's settled in well and is playing with the resident cat and is learning to like the dog! Bart's new name is Bailey. 12/30
Justine - Adopted!
Update: Justine was her foster mom's favorite kitty! She just has so much personality - a very outgoing kitty. Like many black kitties it took her longer to find a home but I think she found a great one! It has a dog (Justine just loves dogs!) and kids (again J is a great kid cat!) and they love her! 12/30
Marshmallow - Adopted!
Update: I knew there was a great home out there for my sweet Marshmallow and she found it! Her new family has written me several e-mails raving about what a love she is (I of course already knew that!). I'm so happy she found her perfect forever family! 12/30
Flute - Adopted!
Update: Flute after many 'false starts' (ie applications that didn't work out) found a wonderful forever home. Her new parents just adore her!! 12/27
Crystal - Adopted!
Update: Sweet Crystal finally found her forever home. She was one of those kitties that was always admired at adoptathons but not applied for. She finally got an application that just didn't work out. The very next day at an adoptathon she got 2 applications! Crystal went home with a wonderful woman and her male cat 'Gaylord' on 12/23 just in time for the Holidays!
Update - Crystal's new mom writes: I wanted to let you know Crystal is doing well. She is still hissing at Gaylord a little but this morning they were both eating out of the same bowl. She is a sweet, soft little kitty and Gaylord and I are enjoying her! I'll do my best to take care of her and keep her happy and healthy for a long time to come!
Rosella - Adopted!
Update: When Rosella came into our group her finder thought she was pregnant because she was rather round. Our vet examined her and discovered she wasn't pregnant but she did have a lump on her chest. He removed it - it was cancer but it was fairly small and he got all of it. Needless to say it takes a special person to adopt a kitty with a history of cancer! Rosella is one lucky kitty - a wonderful lady fell in love with her over the internet and their first meeting went perfectly. Rosie now has a great home and we couldn't be happier! 12/15
Update from Rosie's new mom - "It's going well and she is settling in quite well. My son came from NYC last night and they were on the floor playing within 30 minutes. She sleeps on my bed at night and under it during the daytime. "
Forrest - Adopted!
Update: Forrest came into us as a scared little kitten - he was quite the shy boy. In his time with us he turned around completely and became an outgoing, confident kitten who just loved to sit in my lap! Forrest was the last of his litter to get adopted but I think he was just waiting for the right people to come along. Sure enough he found his perfect forever home - and they just adore him! He's taking his time getting used to his new home - I wasn't surprised to hear he's happiest when his new mommy & daddy are holding him in their lap. Then he's one happy boy - he just cuddles up and makes biscuits! Forrest's name is now Hobbes - how cool is that? 12/15
Tika - Adopted!
Update: Tika came into us as a pregnant momma kitty and then had 4 beautiful kittens! Two of them have already been adopted and a third is scheduled to go home soon. Tika found her forever home and is having a wonderful time being an only kitty and soaking up all of the attention! 12/12
Spanky - Adopted!
Update: You know what they say 'the second time's the charm'. Spanky would agree. His new mommy came in awhile ago and met Spanky, Tarzan and Julian and then adopted Julian. When her older cat passed away she came back to meet Spanky again. Trumpet tried to steal her heart but Spanky was 'the one'. Julian is happy to have a new buddy and the whole family is enjoying Spanky! 12/7
Isis - Adopted!
Update: Isis went home on 12/6. Ironically the family that adopted her previously had a tortie named Isis. Our Isis started out as "Iris" however the vet that issued her rabies certificate made a typo and thus she became "Isis". Her new family believes it was fate that the mistake was made. I can't say I disagree as it helped Isis find her ideal home. They just love her - she's fit right in!

Betsy Ross - Adopted!
Update: Betsy Ross - the last of our "famous people" kittens finally found her forever home on 11/30 - and I have to say it is a home worth waiting for! Her new family is amazed and delighted by her ;-)
Tarzan - Adopted!
Update: As fosters it's really hard to send our babies to new homes. But we do it so that we can take in and help more kitties. Sometimes kitties are just so special we can't let them go. Tarzan stole his foster parent's heart and now he's a part of their forever home :-) 11/30
Minnie Mouse - Adopted!
Update: Surprisingly (to me anyway) Minnie found a home before her medium haired brother, Mickey and her mommy, Juliet. In most cases the kitties with medium to long hair are adopted first. Minnie, however was just the right kitten for a lovely couple. She went home on 11/30 and they adore her!
Tux - Adopted!
Update: Tux was seen on our website by someone who had just lost her cat ;-( After they met it was clear it was a match and now sweet Tux has a new home for the Holidays! 11/28
Teddy Roosevelt - Adopted!
Update: Teddy is a handsome black 'cuddle bug' that always attracted attention at adoptathons. For one reason or another his applications never worked out. Well now we know why - he was waiting for just the right home! A lovely couple that previously adopted our Gracie came in to meet Minnie Mouse and Island Princess. They were both sweet but Teddy captured their hearts! He's gone home and is doing GREAT! They write he's all we said he was and more! 11/23
Livingston - Adopted!
Update: I got the call I had been dreading - Livingston's future mommy was back from her long vacation - it was time to give him up. I cried. This wonderful boy came into my house as a scared kitten - he needed a lot of time to adjust and became a very special part of our household. While I was sad I was also happy - he was finally going to go to his forever home with a wonderful woman who promised to give him lots of adjustment time. It helped that I had gotten to see her fall in love with him. Livingston went home on 11/22 I know he's going to be very happy there!
Bailey and Moon Pie

Update: Bailey and Moon Pie went home together! They've got 2 adorable human sisters to play with now as well as of course each other. It's so nice for us as fosters when our kittens go home as a pair :-) 11/22

Chile Pepper - Adopted!
Update: It was Chile Pepper's weekend. A nice family came in to meet Forrest and Velma but fell in love with Chile Pepper instead! (and who could blame them). After that it seemed like everyone was asking about Chile but luckily he had alerady found a wonderful home! Chile went home on 11/6 and quickly made friends with the resident dog. Their cat took a little longer to come around but Chile (who thinks everyone is his friend) won him over! The kids and adults in the family just adore outgoing Chile. They couldn't believe how cuddly he was right off the bat!
Fred and Shaggy -
Adopted Together!
Update: Fred and Shaggy went home together on 11/1. By all accounts they are having a blast in their new home and their new daddy is enjoying all of the kitten chaos!
Daphne - Adopted!
Update: Daphne went home with one of our previous adopters - she had adopted Gazelle (now Maizy). Gazelle was looking for a buddy - first Kayla went home to be her friend but sadly it just didn't work out between the two of them. Daphne (now Zena) however is a whole different story. She and Maizy are best buddies and their mommy couldn't be happier with the pair of them! 11/1
Sagi and Abracadabra
- Adopted Together!
Update: Sagi and Abracadabra could not have found a better home if they had tried! Their new family just adores them and the boys are repaying them with loads of love, attention and kitten antics! 10/22
Azul - Adopted!
Update: In an odd twist - a wonderful couple came in looking to adopt Amelia (they had met her the weekend before but not put in an application). Amelia (see below) had gone home the day before. So they went about meeting our other kitties - it didn't take long before they fell in love with both Azul and Isis. Interestingly enough the folks who adopted Amelia were deciding between Amelia and Azul - it was clearly 'their' weekend. Eventually they decided to adopt Azul! He went home on 10/14 and is now named "Bandit".
His new mommy writes: We've had a great getting to know you evening. He is such a lovey cat, we love his head butts and the way he taps us with a paw or two when he wants some petting. The way he positions himself for belly rubs is just too funny, he reminds me of a dog. We also got a good laugh when he spotted the 'other cat' in the mirror. He is such a sweet, wonderful cat ! Thank you so much for helping us find our new family member!
Amelia Earhart - Adopted!
Update: Amelia's new family came in looking for a boy kitten. They had previously adopted our "Gershwin" (now he's "Jet") and were looking for another kitty. They wanted a boy and seriously looked at Abracadabra and Azul but Amelia snuck in and stole their hearts. I have to admit I suggested her to them - like Azul and Abracadabra she's a love of a kitten! 10/11
Well she's doing great - they've already written "We changed her name to Star. She has been home 30 minutes and she is sooo much fun! She has the best personality! I am so glad we met her. She fits in perfectly. She has been downstairs running around checking everything out. She will rule over her brothers in no time!"
Callie - Adopted!
Update: Callie has gone to live in her forever home with her brother Beaver (he was adopted in September and is now "Smokey"). 10/11 Update - Callie is settling in well in her new home. Her foster mom says it's hard to get pictures of her because she's hanging out too close to her to get a good picture :-) Callie is enjoying playing with her brother Smokey!
Kayla - Adopted!
Update: Sweet Kayla is one of those kittens that really wanted a quiet home. She got her wish! In fact when she met her forever mommy she knew it - and she just snuggled into her arms and it was all over. Previously her mommy had adopted our "Gazelle" (now Maizy) and was looking seriously at our Minnie Mouse. Minnie missed out on a great home but we're going to find her a wonderful one sometime soon! Kayla is settling in well in her new home :-) 10/4
Julian - Adopted!
Update: Julian's new mommy came in and met him at one of our adoptathons. She filled in an application and then wanted to meet Tarzan and Spanky at our next thon. She did and then she went right back to Julian. They must have spent 30 minutes or more at each adoptathon cuddled up together. Everyone could see it was a match! 10/4
Connor - Adopted!
Update: Connor's new mommy originally came to our adoptathon to meet Connor and Sagi. She really liked Sagi but he had someone else looking at him too so she decided to check out Connor. Lo and behold she just fell in love with him. I turned around to check on things and it was 'all over' so to speak! Ironically after having several sets of people looking at him nobody adopted Sagi ! Go figure!
Connor now has a dog that's going to be his buddy. 10/4
Claude - Adopted!
Update: After hanging out in Hobbes House as one of our longer term kitties, Claude found his forever home! He has 2 dogs to rule over....his new family writes:
"We love Claude and he has made himself at home. He loves sitting in our family room window and watching outside all day. He rules our downstairs and the dogs have learned they are no longer the rulers of the roost. Thanks so much. We are very happy with Claude!" 9/28
Coco Calypso - Adopted!
Update: Coco's new mommy originally applied for Mary Poppins but someone else had applied for her first! All is well that ends well and Jenn fell for Coco (now Bella). Coco / Bella has settled in well and Jenn writes that if she would just leave Ringo's tail (Ringo being the dog) alone he would be much happier. I said "good luck" - tails are always so tempting to kitties - like a built in toy! 9/27
Mary Poppins - Adopted!
Update: Mary Poppins had a busy thon one weekend - she got 2 great applications. The second applicant ended up adopting our Coco Calypso (see above). Mary went to a great home - her new family just loves her! 9/24
Snow White - Adopted!
Update: Snow White came in with 2 brothers - Hocus Pocus (all black) and Abracadabra (black and white). We all thought hands down Snow would go home first - but surprisingly Hocus Pocus found his home quickly! Abracadabra is still waiting for his forever home but we know it's out there somewhere. In any case Snow White's wait was worth it - she found a wonderful home! Her new family writes:
"Snow is doing great. Her new name is Bella and she is adjusting very well. She loves everyone, even our mama kitty. They give each other kisses all the time now and play together. She is very attached to my daughter and wants to spend all her time with her. Everyone adores her!" 9/24
Cypress - Adopted!
Update: Cypress is now Zoe. She went to her forever home on 9/21 and is having a blast chasing her new kitty 'sister' Josie!
Peanut - Adopted!
Update: Peanut went home on 9/14. She's already adjusting well to her new home including her new doggie buddy! Her new mommy loves her (just as we thought she would!).
Professor Plum - Adopted!
Update: Professor Plum who is now known affectionately as 'boomerang boy' went home on 9/13. He was returned to us on 9/6 (adopted back in March 2008) because he needed more attention than his adoptive family could provide. Within 24 hours of us listing him on the web he had several applications. The first one he received worked out beautifully and voila he's gone to a new home! So far all is going well. He and the dog are getting along beautifully. The resident cat is still adjusting to the idea of a new friend but we're confident he'll come around!
Merlin - Adopted!
Update: Merlin has had one of the more unique adoption experiences. He went home with a family in late August - mom/dad/ young child and SIL. The mommy ended up having allergy problems when she played with Merlin. However luckily her SIL had fallen in love with him. So we transferred the adoption over to her SIL. Complicated - a bit but it all worked out for the best and Merlin has an amazing home and a wonderful mommy. And that's what counts! Final go home 9/13!
Badger - Adopted!
Update: Badger after several adoptathons hit his 'groove' and lo and behold got several applications in just one weekend! He went to his forever home on 9/13!
Chimney Sweep - Adopted!
Update: Chimney Sweep has gone home to live with one of our former HH kitties "Green Eggs and Ham". We just love his adoptive family and were thrilled to learn they were looking for another kitty. He had to wait for a couple of weeks to go home as his new mommy and daddy were getting married ;-) We of course treasured the extra time with him! He's settled into his new home and they love him just as much as we do!! 9/11
Beaver - Adopted!
Update: Beaver's new mommy fell head over heels in love with him at one of our adoptathons. She couldn't wait until the following weekend to take him home so we did a mid- week 'go home'. Suffice to say she loves her little boy and is thrilled to have adopted him! 9/10
Willow - Adopted!
Update: Beautiful Willow didn't have to wait long to find her forever home! She went home on 9/6. Her new mommy just adores her!
Sir Hunter - Adopted!
Update: Sir Hunter found his forever home! He's going to have a new kitty buddy "Moe". The first introduction was a little on the rough side - so his new family is going to give them a bit more time apart before they introduce them again. We always love it when we adopt kitties to wonderful patient homes. 9/4
Aspen - Adopted!
Update: Aspen has moved next door to his foster mom and she couldn't be more thrilled! Her neighbor applied for this sweet boy after meeting him. Apparently his new name is "Sunshine" he's got a new feline 'brother' Shadow! They are having a wonderful time playing together! Of course it helps that they had 'play dates' before the actual adoption! 8/30
Gazelle - Adopted!
Update: Gazelle has gone to her forever home. It was an amusing process her new mommy originally wanted Chipmunk and Gazelle, then Callie and Gazelle, then Iris (not available for adoption yet) and Gazelle. Eventually she realized that really just Gazelle had stolen her heart! 8/24
Bobbidi - Adopted!
Update: Bobbidi went to his forever home on 8/24! He joins our 'Tonka' (now Boots). The boys are doing really well together and their adoptive family is so happy to have them!
Cedar - Adopted!
Update: Sweet but on the shy side, Cedar needed to find just the right home. And we think she has! Cedar went home with a lovely couple on 8/23. They seem to understand she'll need longer than the average kitten to adjust to a new household. I'm looking forward to an update! Update: Cedar has settled in much better than expected!!!
Chipmunk - Adopted!
Update: Chipmunk came saw and conquered the art of the adoptathon! He charmed his way into not one but two applications in one day! His new family was very excited to take him home on 8/23. His other applicant is going to adopt his sister Gazelle!
Ash - Adopted!
Update: Ash's adopters originally were looking at our Lola - however they ended up falling for her brother instead! Lola went home last week - this week was Ash's turn! 8/22
Nacoma - Adopted!
Update: Nacoma came into us with a major tail injury. Her tail had to be amputated. She however has now found her forever home - without going out to a single adoptathon! Her new mommy saw her online and fell in love (I have to admit she is not only very photogenic but also a total love!). Their first meet and greet went 'smooth as silk' and you could just see them bond. Nacoma 'sealed the deal' when she started licking her new mommy. She went home on 8/20 and is doing really well. Molly and Mo - Adopted by Foster mom
Update: Some lucky kitties are just too special to leave their foster homes. Molly and Mo are just such a pair. Their foster family couldn't bear to part with them so they added this sweet sibling pair to their family! 8/17
Hocus Pocus - Adopted!
Update: Hocus Pocus (who is now called Puma by his new family) worked his magic and managed to find a home before his brother and sister. He's settled in and sounds like he's having lots of fun (and cuddle time) with his new family! 8/16
Chipolte - Adopted!
Update: Chipolte (or Chipolte - we spelled it both ways over time) has found his forever home. 8/16
His new mommy writes: He's doing great, eating, sleeping and using his litter box! I now have no need for a scarf as he likes to sleep around my neck when I'm watching TV. So far he's loved playing with the mouse on a stick toy I bought him and seems to really enjoy running around the house and skidding across the hardwood floors. When I leave the room he either follows me or does his "where are you?" meow and then comes skidding into the room where I am. Thanks for a great kitty!"
Juniper - Adopted!
Update: Juniper - one of our slow to adjust kittens found his forever home on 8/16! Great news - he is adjusting to his new family much faster than we expected!!
Bear - Adopted!
Update: Bear found his forever home and oddly enough it was in VA! His new family traveled 3 hours to come and get him! Bear has settled in well and is enjoying life! I think they took 150 pictures of him in the first 48 hours! 8/16
Charlotte - Adopted!
Update: Charlotte was adopted by her foster mom! She was interested in adopting Charlotte but wasn't sure if it would work out so we moved Charlotte from her original foster home to a new one. Needless to say it all worked out wonderfully. After a bit of a settling in period - Charlotte (now Charlie), BW (now Yona) and Squat (now Lucie) all 'rebonded'. I say re-bonded because once upon a time they were all buddies in their original foster homes! It's a fairytale ending for everyone! 8/14
Sacagawea - Adopted!
Update: Cute, playful "Saki" went to her forever home on 8/12. Her new family writes that they have become very attached to her. "She's just so loving and sweet. I think her favorite game is either hide and seek or chasing the laser pointer. She still loves to chase her tail though and it's way too cute!"
Romeo - Adopted!
Update: Handsome Romeo - quite the lover - found a home very quickly! He went home on 8/9 and his new family is 'in love'!
Lily - Adopted!
Update: Beautiful Lily was adopted by her foster mom on 8/4. We're so pleased this sweet deaf girl found a wonderful home!
Avalon - Adopted!
Update: We've had Avalon since she was 2 weeks old (she's now a 2 year old!) and she finally found her wonderful forever home!! Avalon was adopted on 8/3 - her new family agrees she's a laser light champion if there ever was one. They took her introduction to the household slowly and it's paid off :-)
Sunshine - Adopted!
Update: Sunshine - a stunning medium haired calico was everyone's 'bet' to be the first one adopted from her litter. Sugar and Ginger however beat the 'odds' and were adopted just an hour before their sister! Sunshine found herself a wonderful home on 7/26.

Marshmallow - Adopted!
Update: All of our kitties are special but some just work their ways deep into your heart. Marshmallow is just such a kitty. She came into us very sick (URI, eye infections, ear infections) but was a love throughout. Once she was well and had full roam of my house she became the ultimate lap cat - always curled up in my lap :-) One of our wonderful volunteers has a neighbor that was looking for a lap cat and Marshmallow was of course looking for a lap to fill on a permanent basis. She went home on 7/26 and we miss her! However we're really happy she's found an amazing home!
Zeus - Adopted!
Update: Handsome Zeus managed to find his forever home without attending a single adoptathon! His foster mom, Meg wrote up a such wonderful description of him that his future family fell in love with him online :-) The meet and greet went really well and Zeus went home on 7/23!
Weeble - Adopted !
Update: Our wonderful special needs kitty Weeble was adopted on 7/12. His new family just adores him and has trouble imagining life without him! All of Hobbes House is celebrating!
Bibbidi - Adopted!
Update: Beautiful Bibbidi got an application before she was even ready for adoption. I'm pleased to report that she went home on 7/7. Her new family just adored her at the meet and greet. They tell me she comes when called and purrs loudly and will snuggle readily. She's apparently having a great time exploring her new home and getting to know her new doggy friend!
Princess Pumpernickel - Adopted!
Update: Pumpernickel charmed her way into her forever home on 7/5. Her new daddy writes that she's settling in just fine and enjoying lots of loving! Apparently she's taken over his recliner and is having a blast playing with her new toys.
Boo and Little Pumpkin Pie- Adopted Together!
Update: Boo and Little Pumpkin Pie went home together on 7/5! Their new family tells us they are having a blast pouncing and playing together!
Nerf - Adopted!
Update: Handsome Nerf went to his forever home on 6/28. His wonderful new mommy fell in love with him first online then in person :-) I know he's gone to a great home!
Tinker - Adopted!
Update: Tinker went to her forever home on 6/24. She was the first 'Toy' kitten to be adopted!
Her new family writes: Tinker is absolutely precious .... we love ... love ... love her! She is sweet, playful and smart. She's so ... so happy here ... purring all the time. She really enjoys having the run of our house. She uses her scratching pads....plays with all of her toys ...eats and drinks really well ... she is just so good. Christian is a delighted little boy, he loves playing with her and snuggling when she's sleepy. She sleeps in his room at night and is so quiet and good. She wakes him up in the morning around 7 am when she's ready for breakfast. We just adore her .... she has really captured our hearts.
We can't thank you enough for all you do for these precious animals.
King Arthur - Adopted!
Update: King Arthur found a wonderful home on Father's Day! His new family writes "Arthur is wonderful and we have all fallen in love with him. You are so right, he is the most loving affectionate kitty! The kids giggled while Arthur rubbed them all over. Adam kept saying 'he likes me, he really likes me'" Aw what a great update!!
Nalu and Madison - Adopted!
Update: This sweet pair of tabbies went to their new forever home together! Their new daddy tells us Nalu has claimed his official position lap position. They are both settling in well! 6/14
Smokey - Adopted!!!!
Update: Sweet Smokey is one of our older kitties (14 years old). We were all so excited when he got an application - so many people don't want to adopt an older kitty even though they have so much love to give. Smokey is now in a wonderful home enjoying tons of loving!! 6/12
Macaroon - Adopted!
Update: Beautiful, outgoing, playful Macaroon had no trouble charming her way into her forever home! I'm not sure if it was love at first site or at first cuddle. Her new mommy adopted "Lilianna" from us previously. I'm told they are having a blast chasing each other around! 6/8
Samoa - Adopted!
Update: Another set of previous adopters (they adopted Creamsicle now Praline back in November) came to us looking for another kitty! They met both Macaroon and Samoa and fell in love with sweet Samoa. They really liked Macaroon too but felt she was probably too playful for their household! I'm so pleased this wonderful couple adopted Samoa - I know she's in a great home! She's adapting well to her new surroundings. Creamsicle/ Praline is taking her time making friends but I'm confident she'll come around and soon they'll be buddies 6/4.
BW- Adopted!
Update: Sweet but shy BW went home on 6/2. His new mommy had adopted "Squat" (now Lucie) from us previously. She wanted Lucie to have a buddy! BW knew a wonderful home when he saw it - he took to her immediately!
Oreo - Adopted!
Update: Oreo was adopted by a wonderful couple who just fell in love with her! They have a soft spot for special needs kitties. Previously they had adopted our Pegasus and they were looking for a playmate for her. Oreo captured their hearts and they weren't worried one bit about her being deaf! They've already written to tell me how much they love her and that "she and Peg-a-boo have been chasing each other around like stampeding buffalo." I have to admit I laughed out loud at that one. Sounds like they are all having a blast! 5/29
King Arthur - Adopted!
Update: King Arthur went home on 5/18 - just a few hours later I got a phone call from his new family raving about how wonderful he is and how happy they were to have him as a member of their family! Update King Arthur was returned on 5/24. His new daddy had 3 massive asthma attacks and is clearly too allergic to have a kitty :-(
Dandelion - Adopted!
Update: Sweet Dandelion's picture and description captured her future mommy's heart. Then they met at an adoptathon and you could just tell they were meant for each other. Her new mommy understands that it will take Dandelion longer than usual to adjust to a new home. She's ready and willing to give Dandelion plenty of love and time. I couldn't be happier (although we really miss Dandelion!) 5/17
Domino - Adopted!
Update: Beautiful Domino was one of our longer term kitties and we're all really excited she found a forever home. A lovely couple came in to meet Lily and while they were there they met the other foster kitties at that location. Domino knew a great family when she saw them. She followed them around asking for attention and stole their hearts! IMO Domino is one smart kitty!
Nori - Adopted!
Update: Loving Nori had no trouble finding a home. She just adores people and other animals so when a family came in looking for a friend for their Bishon it was no surprise that Nori stepped up to the plate. The humans had already fallen in love with her so it was time to see how she did with their dog. We don't normally introduce dogs and cats at adoptathons however I knew Nori had liked our dogs so I let them smell each other - and all was well ! 5/10
Update from Nori's new family: Nori is precious! She is a non- stop purr machine, is already sitting and cuddling with us a little and is so sweet that she just melts our hearts. Dexter (our bichon frise puppy) is literally bouncing off the walls - he's so happy to have a friend! They chase each other, wrestle together, follow each other around and rest together. Dexter licks Nori's ears and face and she loves it. Nori loves to climb on everything adn we let her go anywhere she wants except that we squirt her when she goes on the dining room table (thanks for giving us that tip about squirting!). We can't thank you enough for making it possible for us to have such a wonderful addition to our family - she is a joy to all of us.
Another update - this one from Nori's new daddy: Sue and I wanted to let you know that Nori is FANTASTIC. What a sweetheart! She has won our hearts already. We absolutely love her and we could not be more pleased with her. Thank you for letting us adopt her. She is a perfect fit and we could not be more happy.
Starz - Adopted!
Update: It's kind of ironic that Andy and Starz (brothers born in a Hobbes House foster home on 8/11) both found their forever homes just 10 days apart. Starz is an only kitty in his new home but he's got a 3 year old little human friend. His new mom reports the boys are a great match - they wear each other out :-)
Andy - Adopted!
Update: Andy charmed his way into his forever home :-) Now he has a new kitty playmate "Otis" and two humans who adore him! 4/16
Petunia - Adopted!
Update: Petunia went home on 4/7. She's a sweet Long Haired little girl (only 6 pounds and 6 years young). Petunia's new mommy fell in love with her at one of our adoptathons and just couldn't stop thinking about her! Her new name is Stella and she is 'princess of the household'!
Here's her update: Petunia is doing very well. She has not had any fear at all about learning her way around our house. She spent about an hour skulking around surveying her kingdom (because she is the queen!) and is now perfectly content to flop down in the middle of the kitchen floor, on one of our beds, or wherever she deems appropriate (the spot where she will get the most petting at the moment).
Churchill - Adopted!
Update: Churchill went home on 4/5 - his new home is 4 hours away in Central Virginia! The great news is he's settled right in and his new mommy loves him. We found a great home for Churchill - he needed a quieter home! He and his new mommy have lot's of play time and grooming time (important with that Maine Coon coat). He's such a sweet boy I'm so happy he found just the right home!
Prince Carlos - Adopted!
Update: Ah Prince Carlos our boy with tons of personality. He charmed his way into a home ! In fact they just couldn't wait to take him with them. I'm eagerly awaiting an update! 4/3
Update from his new family: His motor purrs like a kitten :-) You weren't joking about him flopping down and rolling over on you Plus I might add he has given plenty of laughs, he's a crazy kitten that's full of life. When he's not scouting about you can bet on it that you'll have him on you!
Marabella & O'Malley -
Adopted Together!
Update: Marabella and O'Malley's new family came in to meet Marabella and ended up falling for both of them! This wonderful brother/ sister pair has gone to live with an amazing homeschooling family where no doubt they will have lots of love and attention! 4/3 Update from their new family - they are in love with both of them - in fact they told me (on the phone) they feel like the 'luckiest family in the world' because they got to adopt them! Marabella is now "Mirabella" and O'Malley is now "Sizzles O'Malley".
Here's their update: They are doing beautifully and both are such a dream. It took Mirabella a little bit more time to acclimate to her new home... (within 20 minutes, Sizzles was on our laps and purring). They reassured each other and he kept enticing Mirabella to play. They are so sweet together. They are so communicative with us (Mirabella's little chirps), so affectionate and just sweethearts. We feel lucky indeed. They both tolerate (and seem to enjoy) Celia's undying attention and need to hold them. We love them. Thank you for sharing such loves! We feel whole again.
Finnegan - Adopted!
Update: Sweet Finn's new mommy was really excited to take him home on 4/3. She's written to tell us that he's adjusted really well! He's up for playtime pretty much any time and he was very social with their weekend houseguest. Needless to say they are really enjoying their new family member!
Winter Solstice - Adopted!
Update: Handsome Winter charmed his way into his forever home on 4/3. I can't wait to hear how he's doing. We miss him! I heard from his new family - he's taken over the house - let the dog's know who's boss and basically made himself at home :-) They adore him!!
Mariposa - Adopted!
Update: Our beautiful Mariposa found a home quickly. I can't say I was surprised she stole someone's heart - she's just a love of a girl! 3/22

Colonel Mustard - Adopted!
Update: Colonel Mustard has personality to spare! Finding him a home would have normally been 'a snap' ....however our Colonel is special he has cataracts and might require surgery in a few years. So while he charmed everyone at adoptathons - most people casually ran for the hills when they read his description. But there was no scaring off his adopters. Nope they loved him and were not daunted by his possible future medical needs. Colonel Mustard went home on 3/15 and I've received many wonderful updates and pictures from them :-)
London - Adopted!
Update: London's beautiful looks caught her new family's eye but it was her sweet personality that captured their hearts! London went home on 3/15 and is completely at home in her new surroundings. She's even got a new buddy a small dog!
Professor Plum - Adopted!
Update: Professor Plum is one of those kitties that was bound to find a loving home with no problem. He's such an outgoing love of a boy! His new family just adores him!! 3/6
Black Dragon - Adopted!
Update: We've had Black Dragon since he was one day old - he just had his first birthday 2/21 and lo and behold he found his forever home! Black Dragon has gone to live with one of our kitties that was adopted several months ago "Clarinet" (he's now Domino). Jeremy really loves Black Dragon in fact I think I can safely say it was love at first sight. Now we just need to make sure Clarinet/ Domino falls in love with his new 'brother' 3/2
Squat - Adopted!!!
Update: Squat was one of our original Hobbes House kitties so we're beyond excited she found a home. Squat's new name is Lucie. She's adjusting well to her new home in fact I think she's taken over :-) 3/1

Raja - Adopted!
Update: Handsome sweet Raja (can you tell I'm biased he was my foster!) found his forever home on 3/1. His new family is wonderful and they clearly adore him - who could ask for anything more? I'm so pleased he finally found a home although we miss him a lot around here!
Blue Moon - Adopted!
Update: Blue Moon went home shortly after his brother, Orange Sherbert. His new daddy writes that he's doing really well and has taken over the place. He also mentioned that he has never seen a cat that has no intimidations about going up to strangers! Apparently he had some friends over and Blue Moon (now named Max) went and sat in everyone's lap in turn! 3/1

Update: I bet you guys don't recognize this boy - it's Orange Sherbert - he never even made it onto the web. Orange Sherbert got an application at his first official adoptathon and went home on 2/26!
PollyAnna - Adopted!
Update: PollyAnna went home on the same day as her sister Belle (2/23) but to a different home. PollyAnna is a "Hemmingway" kitty with an extra toe on her front feet. Ironically she's gone to a home where she's going to have an almost identical cat brother, Oliver!

Lord Grey- Adopted!
Update: Lord Grey went to his forever home on 2/20. They've already renamed him "Eli" after a NY Giants football player. His new mommy writes: "Eli is just awesome! He loves to rub up against our faces and give kisses. He was a very busy boy, checking everything out. He didn't hide once. He spent most of the night on the bed, alternating between sleep and rubbing his face in ours. There is no doubt that Eli will keep us busy- he's one curious and loving boy! We are absolutely in love with him! He is just so cool!"
