Axis  Only $50

Breed:Short Hair - Tabby
Color:Silver
Sex:Female
DOB:June 1, 1995
Axis

Axis:

Due to my senior citizen discount my adoption fee is only $25!

Axis was a pitifully thin and frail little girl when she was first found at PetSmart. She was left in one of the kitty 'meet and greet' rooms, very hungry, but as sweet as ever. When I discovered her, she just rubbed against my legs and meowed to be petted. She actually weighed just a little over 4 pounds (as a full grown kitty) when she first came to us. Now she's a healthy, senior girl who enjoys looking out of the window, having long full body pets and scratches around her chin and ears. Her body has filled out, her muscles have strengthened and she's now up to a good weight of 7 pounds. Axis deserves a forever home where she can snuggle up in someones lap and chase sunspots around the house. Won't you give this senior girl a loving home ?

Note: Axis is hypo-thyroid and takes medicine each day ( it's very easy since it is rubbed on the inside of her ears ). Hobbes House is willing to continue to pay for her medicine.

Color:Black
Sex:Male
DOB:July 1, 2009
Black Beauty

Black Beauty:

Hi, my name is Black Beauty and my foster mom tells me that I am a gorgeous, gentle, sweet, loving and affectionate little kitty cat. I am approximately 8 months old small neutered male with long black fur with a tiny bit of white fur on his belly. I get regular vet check-ups and I'm very healthy. I'm negative for FIV, Feline Leukemia and worms. I've had my rabies and distemper vaccines (and boosters) too. I was born outdoors and lived most of my life outdoors at a busy apartment complex. I was one of the lucky ones who made it even with lots of dangerous car traffic. I'm indoors now and having fun with my foster family including a big dog and 7 other rescued cats. I like it inside and I'm doing fantastic as an indoor kitty cat. Thank you for considering adopting me and if you take a chance on me, I'll return the favor with a lifetime of fun, love and affection.

Buddy  Only $50

Breed:Short Hair
Color:Black
Sex:Male
DOB:April 24, 2006
Buddy

Buddy:

Buddy is probably the friendliest cat you will ever meet and so his name is perfect for him. He wants to be everyone's Buddy!!! Need a pal to watch TV with?? He's your cat. Need a pal to play with??? He's always ready. Just need to sit and be with a friend?? Buddy is the best friend you'll ever have!

Buddy was rescued after being hit by a car. His pelvis was broken, and his tail didn't work anymore, and he had lost about 40% of his body weight. His rescue vet wasn't sure if he would be able to recover from his injuries but wisely decided to give him time and TLC to help him heal. Even after sustaining these injuries, Buddy still wanted to be touched and petted. His happy attitude helped him make a complete recovery and today he not only walks but plays chase and his tail works just fine. He runs, plays, and climbs just like any other cat.

Buddy has grown into a handsome, strong and healthy cat. His fosters think he looks like a mini panther. Buddy doesn't care what anybody thinks he looks like he KNOWS he's cool.

He is making up for lost time and wants to be a part of everything. He follows his humans all around. He's quite the social fellow and runs up to enthusiastically greet new people and cats. Buddy makes friends in seconds. He purrs, gives head bumps and demands to be petted by everybody he meets. He'll sit with you furr-ever as long as you keep petting him.

Buddy seems to love everybody and everything with only one exception. He doesn't like dogs so he will need to go to a home without them. He'll be fine with other cats and he'll do well with children. He will make a great pet and will always be your best buddy!

ET  Only $50

Breed:Short Hair - Tabby
Color:Orange
Sex:Male
DOB:March 15, 2009
ET

ET:

E.T came from a high kill shelter with his brother Elliot. He's a little more shy than his brother, but just give him a little time to understand that he can trust you, and you'll have all the rewards. He loves to be held like a baby, snuggle into your lap, rub his head against your hand while sometimes giving you kisses .... and the sweetest of all - he will roll over onto his side so you can give him belly rubs. He's always got a good purr motor, but belly rubs really make him purrrrrr. He is such a sweet boy !

E.T would be great as an only cat or as a companion for another kitty. Although he's technically still a kitten, he's always been more on the calm side - so he still likes to play, but not with the typical kitten energy. He likes to play with the laser light and chase after furry mice. He also likes to watch the birds and squirrels outside while sitting in his kitty perch. Please won't you take him home to be the newest member of your family ?

Finch

Breed:Short Hair
Color:Mackerel Tabby
Sex:Male
DOB:March 31, 2009
Finch

Finch:

Finch is a mackerel tabby with a lot of white on his face and chest. He is a big boy already too, just like his brother Sparrow. Finch is a little shyer than Sparrow & Chickadee. He would do best going home with one of his siblings or going to a home with an existing laid-back cat. He can be a little shy at first with new people, but warms up quickly. Once you get to know Finch it is hard to get him off of your lap.

Finch will play with just about anything, but seems to like the wands with feathers on the end best. He is a healthy eater and enjoys treats and lunchmeat throughout the day. Once you get to know Finch his personality really comes out. Finch really enjoys hanging out on the screened-in porch each day. He would be a great addition to your home, so won't you give him a chance?

Gala  Only $50

Breed:Short Hair
Color:Black and White
Sex:Female
DOB:March 3, 2009
Special Needs:FIV Positive
Gala

Gala:

Gala is a beautiful little tuxedo girl who plays and acts just like a normal kitten but needs to be adopted by a special person who understands FIV. She may be a little reserved as she warms up to a new home, but once she does, she will be a sweet and cuddly companion. She can be such a lap kitty too. She loves to play with other kitties ( she has a new best kitty friend Miss Lola who is another kitten from Hobbes House ) who can also be adopted with Gala. Gala would also do well as an only cat too. She enjoys all kinds of toys and has a favorite little white mouse toy that she carries all around the house. Gala also spends her days with Daisy .. a big yellow Lab. They have become best buds and can often been seen playing together. They even sleep beside each other on the couch. Gala also enjoys an occasional nuzzle of kiss from Daisy. She is not scared at all and is sometimes very curious.

Gala tested positive for FIV which stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. Because she is young, she may be harboring antibodies from an FIV mommy, so it is possible she will eventually test negative. Gala can live a normal life with FIV. Won't you consider giving this special little girl a chance?

Some facts about FIV cats:

  • FIV is a cat-only disease and cannot be spread to humans or non-feline animals.
  • FIV cats most often live long, healthy, and relatively normal lives with no symptoms at all.
  • FIV is not easily passed between cats. It cannot be spread casually - like in litter boxes, water and food bowls, or when snuggling and playing. The virus can be spread through blood transfusions, badly infected gums, or serious, penetrating bite wounds. (Bite wounds of this kind are extremely rare, except in free-roaming, un-neutered tomcats.)
  • A spayed/neutered inside cat, is extremely unlikely to infect other cats, if properly introduced.
  • Many vets are not educated about FIV since the virus was only discovered 15 years ago.
  • FIV-positive cats should be kept as healthy as possible. Keep them indoors and free from stress, feed them a high-quality diet, keep and treat any secondary problems as soon as they arise.

Keebler  Only $50

Breed:Short Hair
Color:Black
Sex:Female
DOB:September 8, 2005
Keebler

Keebler:

Keebler strolled into her finder's backyard as a hungry, lonely girl. They saw her eating the crackers that were put out to feed the opossums and raccoons each night, so they named her Keebler. Cute isn't it ? Once they started feeding her real cat food, she realized she had a friend and rewarded them by rubbing all over their legs and purring ! She was so happy to have someone feeding her and paying her a little attention. She still craves attention and loves to rub her face and body all around your legs - she will almost turn herself over when you start to rub her face. And wait until you hear her purr - it's very sweet ! Keep petting her and you'll see why she was almost named Biscuit - because she's constantly kneading the blankets and her bed when she's being pet.

Keebler has fur that feels like black silk and she has beautiful gold eyes. Very striking ! All Keebler wants is a family to love and take care of her. She would probably be happiest as an only kitty so that she won't have any competition for your attention. She'll promise to give you lots of love in return for your kindness!

Marmalade  Only $50

Breed:Short Hair
Color:Orange and White
Sex:Female
DOB:May 1, 2007
Marmalade

Marmalade:

Meet Lady Marmalade. Lady M came to us as a stray with no home. She was living in the woods behind the home of a nice couple (who began to feed her). She quickly began to trust this family and was soon sleeping on their porch. She would eat snacks from their hands and enjoyed being rubbed. When the family realized they were allergic to cats (and knew this sweet baby would make a great pet for someone ) they called Hobbes House … to the rescue.

Lady Marmalade is a beautiful cat. She has very soft thick medium length hair. She is snow white with large patches that are beautiful orange ( dark like the sunset) in color. Her eyes are also very beautiful and they match the tawny orange in her coat. She has a very pink nose with a sweet orange smudge on the side.

This wonderful girl had a rough life before Hobbes House. She even has a BB (from a gun) stuck in her side. She is not a big fan of adopt-a-thons, but when at home wants nothing more than the love of a family. She will show you her true sweet colors. She enjoys being petted and will sit beside you or sometimes even in your lap. She truly enjoys being brushed. This makes her beautiful coat even softer. Lady M currently lives with 1 other kitty, Gala, and they are in the process of getting to know each other. They are figuring out that Kitty Chase is a very fun game to play. They chase each other round and round. Lady M also has one more new friend.. Daisy .. the sweet yellow lab. Not sure if Lady M has been around too many other dogs before.. but she does't seem to mind Daisy at all. I am sure that they will be best friends very soon.

This girl will steal your heart. She needs a wonderful person to give her the love and affection she needs and deserves. She'll become your new best friend. Consider taking a chance on Lady Marmalade? Meet and Greets at the foster home are welcome. This way you can see her in her own comfortable space.

  • Lives with one other cat and a very "cat" friendly yellow Lab.
  • Enjoys petting and brushing time.
  • Will not be a snuggler with other kitties but does not mind another cat friend to hang out with for companionship.

Morgan  Only $50

DOB:November 1, 2005

Morgan:

I love to be petted in fact you don't have to stop until I let you know I've had enough (which happens only rarely!). I like to hang out with people as that increases my chances of getting affection (pretty clever huh?).

I'm all black except for a little white locket. I think it gives me a sweet sleek look with a touch of class.

I'm great with other cats and OK with the dog that lives in my house. Children I can take them or leave them but I'm not big on playing with them so it might be best if I go to a home with older kids or no kids at all.

I like to sleep on the bed and will gladly hop in any available lap for some loving. Have you got room at your place for me?

Smooch:

My name is Smooch! It's because smooching and snuggling is my thing! I used to live outside a veterinary clinic. One of the nice people there made friends with me and brought me inside. Everybody thought I was feral and would need to be released outside after I got "fixed." Well did I show them! I'm a big ol' puddle of lovin'. My favorite hobby is crawling in people's laps to get petted. I purr all the time and I just crave attention. I figure I have to make up for lost time.

I am a very gentle cat. Sometimes when I'm getting petted, I get really excited and give little love nips in return. I don't ever bite hard but I thought you should know since it means "I love you." I need to build up my self-confidence a bit. The more people love on me, the better I feel and I'm making big strides. I do really well people and other cats. I'm not sure how I feel about dogs but I'm willing to give it a try if you are. I think I'll probably do well with kids too especially if they are gentle with me and pet me a lot.

I can't wait until I find my forever home! Will it be with you? If you want a loving lap cat guaranteed to bring a smile to your face then I'm the one for you!

Sophie II:

I am so incredible beautiful - it's amazing. Such long flowing hair and so sleek ! I am also so so sweet - I love attention ... being held, petted & kissed. I will follow you around waiting for time that you have to spend with me. I would probably be best as an only kitty - then I can be selfish and ask that all of your attention be directed at me.

I was left at a spa in a carrier in the heat ... thank heaven someone rescued me ! Please won't you take me into your home where I can watch the birds from the window and snuggle with you a night ?

Woody:

Things I like:
I love people and other animals. I want nothing but love. I rub against your legs, enjoy being held, and can't get enough attention. I lived with my mother in the backyard of a nice lady's house since I was 4 weeks old. I was fed and spo-ken to every day. Unfortunately, the wonderful lady who was feeding me has to move. So my foster dad came over and took me home. I have grown to love people more than ever. Toys, other animals, people, I love and need them all!

Things I don't like:
So far, the only thing I don't like is my 4 inch tail! It's just too short :)

About FIV:
FIV (Feline Immumodeficiency Virus) is a retrovirus in the same family as the human AIDS virus, with a few significant differences. It is estimated that in the United States, 2% of cats are infected with the FIV virus. Saliva to blood (biting) is generally accepted as the primary source of spreading the virus. It is important to realize that a positive test for FIV is not a mandatory death sentence. With a high protein diet and aggressive treatment if any secondary infections occur, an FIV-positive cat can lead a reasonably normal life span.

  • LOVES to be held
  • enjoys people
  • loves to be petted!
