Axis  Only $50

Breed:Short Hair - Tabby
Color:Silver
Sex:Female
DOB:June 1, 1995
Axis

Axis:

Due to my senior citizen discount my adoption fee is only $25!

Axis was a pitifully thin and frail little girl when she was first found at PetSmart. She was left in one of the kitty 'meet and greet' rooms, very hungry, but as sweet as ever. When I discovered her, she just rubbed against my legs and meowed to be petted. She actually weighed just a little over 4 pounds (as a full grown kitty) when she first came to us. Now she's a healthy, senior girl who enjoys looking out of the window, having long full body pets and scratches around her chin and ears. Her body has filled out, her muscles have strengthened and she's now up to a good weight of 7 pounds. Axis deserves a forever home where she can snuggle up in someones lap and chase sunspots around the house. Won't you give this senior girl a loving home ?

Note: Axis is hypo-thyroid and takes medicine each day ( it's very easy since it is rubbed on the inside of her ears ). Hobbes House is willing to continue to pay for her medicine.

Carah

Breed:Short Hair - Tabby
Color:Gray
Sex:Female
DOB:March 26, 2010
Carah

Carah:

Carah is a sweet, inquisitive, active girl who has all of the 'kitten' qualities one would expect a kitty to have. She was a little shy her first 2 days with us but after that she came right up to us when we come home from work. She loves any kind of toy including strings, balls and laser pointers as well as chasing and being chased by her sister Nicole. She seems to have a motto 'I can sleep when I am an adult.......now is the time to play'. When she sees me or her foster mom she immediately starts purring on que with a purr that is heard across the room. She loves to be petted and even loves to be picked up. In fact, once she is picked up she keeps her purr and enjoys the 'ride' Did I mention that she loves to play, play, and play? She would probably do well with other kitties or lot's of attention if she is an only kitty in an adopted home. She is so sweet, she would be an awesome addition to your family !!

Gala  Only $50

Breed:Short Hair
Color:Black and White
Sex:Female
DOB:March 3, 2009
Special Needs:FIV Positive
Gala

Gala:

Gala is a beautiful little tuxedo girl who plays and acts just like a normal kitten but needs to be adopted by a special person who understands FIV. She may be a little reserved as she warms up to a new home, but once she does, she will be a sweet and cuddly companion. She can be such a lap kitty too. She loves to play with other kitties ( she has a new best kitty friend Miss Lola who is another kitten from Hobbes House ) who can also be adopted with Gala. Gala would also do well as an only cat too. She enjoys all kinds of toys and has a favorite little white mouse toy that she carries all around the house. Gala also spends her days with Daisy .. a big yellow Lab. They have become best buds and can often been seen playing together. They even sleep beside each other on the couch. Gala also enjoys an occasional nuzzle of kiss from Daisy. She is not scared at all and is sometimes very curious.

Gala tested positive for FIV which stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. Because she is young, she may be harboring antibodies from an FIV mommy, so it is possible she will eventually test negative. Gala can live a normal life with FIV. Won't you consider giving this special little girl a chance?

Some facts about FIV cats:

  • FIV is a cat-only disease and cannot be spread to humans or non-feline animals.
  • FIV cats most often live long, healthy, and relatively normal lives with no symptoms at all.
  • FIV is not easily passed between cats. It cannot be spread casually - like in litter boxes, water and food bowls, or when snuggling and playing. The virus can be spread through blood transfusions, badly infected gums, or serious, penetrating bite wounds. (Bite wounds of this kind are extremely rare, except in free-roaming, un-neutered tomcats.)
  • A spayed/neutered inside cat, is extremely unlikely to infect other cats, if properly introduced.
  • Many vets are not educated about FIV since the virus was only discovered 15 years ago.
  • FIV-positive cats should be kept as healthy as possible. Keep them indoors and free from stress, feed them a high-quality diet, keep and treat any secondary problems as soon as they arise.

Keebler  Only $50

Breed:Short Hair
Color:Black
Sex:Female
DOB:September 8, 2005
Keebler

Keebler:

Keebler strolled into her finder's backyard as a hungry, lonely girl. They saw her eating the crackers that were put out to feed the opossums and raccoons each night, so they named her Keebler. Cute isn't it ? Once they started feeding her real cat food, she realized she had a friend and rewarded them by rubbing all over their legs and purring ! She was so happy to have someone feeding her and paying her a little attention. She still craves attention and loves to rub her face and body all around your legs - she will almost turn herself over when you start to rub her face. And wait until you hear her purr - it's very sweet ! Keep petting her and you'll see why she was almost named Biscuit - because she's constantly kneading the blankets and her bed when she's being pet.

Keebler has fur that feels like black silk and she has beautiful gold eyes. Very striking ! All Keebler wants is a family to love and take care of her. She would probably be happiest as an only kitty so that she won't have any competition for your attention. She'll promise to give you lots of love in return for your kindness!

Marmalade  Only $50

Breed:Short Hair
Color:Orange and White
Sex:Female
DOB:May 1, 2007
Marmalade

Marmalade:

Meet Lady Marmalade. Lady M came to us as a stray with no home. She was living in the woods behind the home of a nice couple (who began to feed her). She quickly began to trust this family and was soon sleeping on their porch. She would eat snacks from their hands and enjoyed being rubbed. When the family realized they were allergic to cats (and knew this sweet baby would make a great pet for someone ) they called Hobbes House … to the rescue.

Lady Marmalade is a beautiful cat. She has very soft thick medium length hair. She is snow white with large patches that are beautiful orange ( dark like the sunset) in color. Her eyes are also very beautiful and they match the tawny orange in her coat. She has a very pink nose with a sweet orange smudge on the side.

This wonderful girl had a rough life before Hobbes House. She even has a BB (from a gun) stuck in her side. She is not a big fan of adopt-a-thons, but when at home wants nothing more than the love of a family. She will show you her true sweet colors. She enjoys being petted and will sit beside you or sometimes even in your lap. She truly enjoys being brushed. This makes her beautiful coat even softer. Lady M currently lives with 1 other kitty, Gala, and they are in the process of getting to know each other. They are figuring out that Kitty Chase is a very fun game to play. They chase each other round and round. Lady M also has one more new friend.. Daisy .. the sweet yellow lab. Not sure if Lady M has been around too many other dogs before.. but she does't seem to mind Daisy at all. I am sure that they will be best friends very soon.

This girl will steal your heart. She needs a wonderful person to give her the love and affection she needs and deserves. She'll become your new best friend. Consider taking a chance on Lady Marmalade? Meet and Greets at the foster home are welcome. This way you can see her in her own comfortable space.

  • Lives with one other cat and a very "cat" friendly yellow Lab.
  • Enjoys petting and brushing time.
  • Will not be a snuggler with other kitties but does not mind another cat friend to hang out with for companionship.

Morgan  Only $50

Breed:Short Hair
Color:Black
Sex:Female
DOB:November 1, 2005
Morgan

Morgan:

I love to be petted in fact you don't have to stop until I let you know I've had enough (which happens only rarely!). I like to hang out with people as that increases my chances of getting affection (pretty clever huh?).

I'm all black except for a little white locket. I think it gives me a sweet sleek look with a touch of class.

I'm great with other cats and OK with the dog that lives in my house. Children I can take them or leave them but I'm not big on playing with them so it might be best if I go to a home with older kids or no kids at all.

I like to sleep on the bed and will gladly hop in any available lap for some loving. Have you got room at your place for me?

Sophie II:

I am so incredible beautiful - it's amazing. Such long flowing hair and so sleek ! I am also so so sweet - I love attention ... being held, petted & kissed. I will follow you around waiting for time that you have to spend with me. I would probably be best as an only kitty - then I can be selfish and ask that all of your attention be directed at me.

I was left at a spa in a carrier in the heat ... thank heaven someone rescued me ! Please won't you take me into your home where I can watch the birds from the window and snuggle with you a night ?

DOB:March 10, 2010
Twix

Twix:

Meet beautiful Twix! She is a interesting color (Silver Tabby with orange mixed in). She was living behind a house scared in the woods with her brother Avery. She is a very sweet and loving girl. She has a loud purr and when comfortable enjoys people and their laps. She does play with (and sleep with) other cats and kittens. Twix is a bit more on the shy side and will take a little longer before she is comfortable (and confident enough) to run and meet you at the door. She is not aggressive at all toward people or other animals. Toys are another fan favorite. Take a chance on a sweet lit-tle girl?

  • does not bit or scratch
  • loves to be petted!
