General News

We've adopted out so many kitties recently we started a new page of Adopted Kitties where you can view pictures and updates on them. !
Our Snowy Days has been returned to us for his own safety. He was adopted in January 2007
A side note - it's always sad when a forever home doesn't actually work out. However at Hobbes House we are dedicated to our kitties for life. We welcome them back at any time.

Cats and Kittens Adopted in January 2009

Cheddar was adopted on 2/10!
Karson has an adoption pending!
Sherman went out to his first adoptathon and went home with an applicant that came in to meet a completely different kitty (Gourdon)! What can I say he just charmed his way into their hearts! 1/3
Sax went home on 1/3. His new family went to bat with their apartment complex to adopt him!
Malibu Sunset and Tequila Sunrise caused an avalanche of applications from NC and beyond! I'm happy to report they went home together on 1/3!
Banjo and Trumpet went home together on 1/4.
Twinkle Little Star has gone home to live with birds! It's a bit on a trial basis as she hasn't been around any feathered friends before but we think she'll be OK with them! 1/10
Hunter and Princess Wildflower went home together on 1/10
Marissa found her forever home on 1/10!
Manhattan, Mai Tai and Martini found their forever homes on 1/14!
Mimosa found her forever home on 1/15!

Cats and Kittens Adopted in December 2008

Karma and Mojo - two adorable brothers went home together on 12/3. They're adding a lot of joy and excitement to their new home!
Merlin Maine Coon was adopted by a wonderful family on 12/6. He's going to be an only kitty and will no doubt bask in all of the attention!
Isis went to her forever home on 12/6. She's made herself right at home and is already made friends with the dog !
Spanky (the last of his litter to get adopted!) went to live with one of our previous HH kitties "Julian". Julian is quite happy to have a buddy and the whole family is enjoying outgoing Spanky! 12/7
Shadow Dust (now named Fugly of all things ... I'm not even going to ask!!) was adopted by his foster mom on 12/8
Tika came into us as a pregnant momma - surprisingly she was adopted before 2 of her kittens (kittens usually\ get adopted before the momma cat!) She's now a happy only kitty - enjoying lots of attention from her new daddy. 12/12
Brandy got an application at her very first adoptathon! Then she came down with a kitty cold so her future family had to wait for her for a couple of weeks! She finally went home on 12/13!
Forrest stole a young couple's hearts and even though they had to wait a bit for him - he was worth waiting for! They adore 'my' boy :-) 12/15
Rosella had a small cancerous lump when she came into us. It takes a special person to adopt a kitty that had cancer (we believe our vet got it all). Rosie's new mommy fell in love with her online. Now Rosie is doing everything she can to repay her with lots of loving! 12/15
Petey was out at his first adoptathon for all of 5 minutes before a wonderful couple fell in love with him. They checked out all of the other kitties in our group and in another group but Petey had stolen their hearts! 12/20
Crystal had the 'when a door closes, a window opens' experience. One couple had applied for her but it didn't work out. The very next day she got not one but 2 applications at an adoptathon! She went home on 12/23. Her new brother, Gaylord is one sweet kitty!
Flute went home with a lovely couple on 12/27. They have 2 other kitties at their house for her to play with !
Island Princess went home on 12/27 and came back to us on 12/29 - it turns out 'dad' is very allergic to cats! I feel really badly for the family they loved her!
Barton went home on 12/30! His new people waited to take him home until after the holidays. They tell us he's settling in well.
Marshmallow - our beautiful girl and my lap buddy finally found her forever home - she also went home on 12/30. I miss her very much but she's got a wonderful new family that adore her!
Justine found her forever home at a recent adoptathon. The family came in looking for a kitten they were well versed on our site and knew many of the kitties by name! They wanted an outgoing kitten that would do well with kids and a dog. Justine isn't a kitten anymore (she's 3) but she 'fit the bill' and boy did they fall in love with her! Justine went home on 12/30!

Cats and Kittens Adopted in November 2008

Daphne was adopted on 11/1 by one of our former adopters - she's gone home to live with our Gazelle (now Maizy). Apparently they are getting along great! Daphne is a perfect match for her new household
Shaggy and Fred went home together. These brothers have livened up their new household quite a bit. Their antics are endlessly amusing according to their new dad! 11/1
On 11/15 the last two members of the 'Scooby Gang' - Velma and Scooby went home together!
Livingston went to his forever home on 11/22 -update - Livingston is adjusting slowly to his new home (we expected him to take his sweet time about it). His new mommy is being very patient with him and celebrating every milestone!
Moon Pie and his sister Bailey went home together on 11/22. Those two just love each other - naturally we're thrilled they were adopted together!
Sweet Teddy Roosevelt charmed his way into a forever home on 11/23. He's gone to join a former HH kitty (Gracie) in his new home. His new parents came in to meet Minnie Mouse and Island Princess but just couldn't resist Teddy!
Mulberry and Kiwi went to their forever home together! Just before Thanksgiving what a great way to celebrate the holiday! 11/26
Tux has found his forever home! 11/28
Betsy Ross our last of the "famous people" kittens went home on 11/30. Her new family is amazed at how friendly and outgoing she is :-)
Tarzan was adopted by his foster family on 11/30 - needless to say he's in a wonderful home!
Minnie Mouse much to my surprise was adopted before her handsome medium haired brother Mickey and her mommy Juliet! Normally the medium haired kitties seem to be adopted much quicker. However sweet Minnie just charmed her way into her forever home! 11/30

Zoot one of our litter of 5 count them 5 black kittens went home on 10/4!
Connor our handsome orange boy went home on 10/4 - he is going to have a doggie buddy!
Julian a stunning smoke tabby found his forever home on 10/4 as well. He's going to have 2 cat buddies in his new home.
Kayla one of our shy kitties went to her new home on 10/4. Cynthia had adopted our Gazelle back in August came back for another kitten (Gazelle - now Maizy needs a buddy!). Update Kayla has come back to us she and Maizy did not play well together :-(
Callie went to live with her brother Beaver (now Smokey) on 10/11 !
Amelia Earhart was adopted on 10/11 - she's gone home to live with one of our former HH kitties "Gershwin" (he's now 'Jet')!
Azul went home on 10/14 - he's going to be an only kitty (for now anyway). I have no doubt he'll love soaking up all of the attention! His new name is Bandit - I've already heard from his new mommy - they are 'in love' with their new family member!
Abracadabra and Sagi went to their new home together :-) on 10/22. Their new family loves them!

Sir Hunter went to his new home on 9/4. He's going to have a new kitty buddy. Update: Sadly Sir Hunter did not work out in his new home. It turns out that he needs to be an only kitty or with one that has a very strong personality (like his). In his foster home Sir Hunter is with other kitties that will stand up to him !
Willow went to her new home on 9/6. Her new mommy is very excited!
Beaver's new mommy couldn't wait until the weekend to take him home. He went home on 9/10.
Chimney Sweep went home to live with Green Eggs and Ham (a former HH kitty) on 9/11! His new mommy and daddy just got back from their honeymoon!!
Merlin has found a forever home that just adores him! 9/13!
Professor Plum was returned to us on 9/6. He went to his new home on 9/13. Didn't take him long!
Badger after a small avalanche of applications went home on 9/13.
Peanut finally got to go home on 9/14 - her new mommy fell in love with her before she was spayed. So they both had to wait until Peanut was ready to go!
Cypress went home on 9/21. Her new mommy has written that she (now Zoey) and her new kitty sister Josie are getting along well. And that her new mommy loves her :-)
Mary Poppins went home on 9/24. She was quite a popular kitty raking in 2 excellent applications in just one adoptathon!
Snow White found her forever home at the same adoptathon! She also went home on 9/24. Her new family is completely in love with her - as is her new kitty buddy!
Beautiful Coco Calypso went home at her very first adoptathon. Mary Poppin's second applicant fell in love with her! 9/27
Claude one of our longer term HH kitties found his forever home! Everyone at Hobbes House is thrilled he's got a family that adores him! 9/28!

Tonka went home on 8/2! He's doing very well in his new home!
Avalon - one of our long timers went to her forever home on 8/3. I miss her already and am eagerly waiting for an update from her new family!
Lily has been adopted by her foster mom! 8/4
Romeo went to his forever home on 8/9 and his new family is 'in love'.
Sacagawea aka Saki went home on 8/12 and her new family is having a blast playing with her (and watching her chase her tail!)
Charlotte was adopted by her foster mom on 8/14! She joins her buddies "Squat" (now Lucie) and "BW" (now Yona) !
Hocus Pocus went to his forever home on 8/16. His new mom writes he's settling in well!
Lola after a stampede of applications went home on 8/16. Her new mom writes she slept on the bed the first night and is playing well with her new kitten sister.
Juniper went home on 8/16! I haven't heard from his new family yet - I'm anxiously awaiting an update!
Chipotle easily charmed his way into his new home. His new mommy writes she no longer needs to watch TV - he's entertainment all by himself! 8/16
Bear is now living in VA! His new daddy writes 8/16
Molly and Mo were adopted by their foster mom 8/17!
Nacoma aka 'tail kitty' found her home without going out to a single adoptathon. Her new mommy fell in love with her pictures and description online. The in person meet and greet at our vet's went wonderfully! 8/20
Ash with his stunning 'Smoke Tabby' coloring found his forever home on 8/22!
Cedar charmed her way into a couple's heart last week and went home on 8/23!
Chipmunk went home on 8/23 he's going to have a doggie buddy in his forever home!
Bobbidi went to his forever home on 8/24 to join our "Tonka" (now Boots)!
Gazelle was adopted on 8/24 as well. Her new mommy is in love!
Aspen went to his forever home (conveniently right next door to one of our voluteers!) on 8/30!

Boo and Little Pumpkin Pie went home together on 7/5 !
Princess Pumpernickel found a wonderful forever home on 7/5. Her new daddy sounds completely in love!
Bibbidi got an application before she was even ready for adoption. I'm happy to report she went to her forever home on 7/7. Her new family adores her!
Weeble our special needs kitten went home on 7/12. His new family is just too excited to have him in their house! Everyone at HH is thrilled he found a wonderful home!
Zeus' new family saw him online and fell in love! Meg (his foster mom) wrote a wonderful description of him. Handsome Zeus went home on 7/23.
Sugar and Ginger (sisters) went home together on 7/26. They are having a wonderful time in their new home!
Sunshine found her new home on 7/26 as well ! She's doing wonderfully in her new home!
Our Sweet Marshmallow went home on 7/26 to a neighbor of one of our volunteers! She was looking for a lap cat and Marshmallow was looking for a lap - needless to say we think it's a wonderful match! Update - the person who adopted Marshmallow realized that instead of a lap cat she really wanted a kitty that would play with her current cat. Marshmallow is much more of a cuddlier than a player so she was returned. We think she's going to adopt Aspen (a young kitten) instead. Aspen's foster mom is going to take him over for a playdate.

BW one of our long term kitties went home to his foster sibling 'Squat' on 6/2. Squat's (now Lucie) mommy thought she would enjoy a playmate so she came out to meet the kitties Squat had been living with and fell in love with sweet (but shy at times) BW!!
Samoa went to her forever home on 6/4. She joins "Creamsicle" (now Praline) in her new home. Her family adopted Praline from us back in November!
Macaroon went home on 6/8 to yet another repeat adopter! Her new mommy previously adopted "Lilianna" from us! I'm told the girls are having a blast chasing each other all over the place!
Smokey our oldest kitty was adopted on 6/12! He's gone to a wonderful home! All of Hobbes House is celebrating!
Nalu and Madison went to their forever home together on 6/14! Their new daddy has already written to let us know how well they are doing!
Butch and Sundance went home together on 6/14! These adorable kittens are so cute and full of fun their new mommy didn't want to go to work on Monday!
Handsome, sweet King Arthur charmed his way into a home on 6/15. No surprise he's settled in easily and they adore him already!!
Sgt Pepper went home on 6/15. His new family has been waiting to take him home for a few weeks - they were very excited to get 'their boy'. I can't wait for their update!
Cute Penny Lane went home on 6/15. Her new family are first timers in the world of cats. I know they are going to love having her around!
Beautiful Tinker found her forever home! Her new family just fell in love with her at an adoptathon 6/24
Tinker's brother Nerf caught the eye of not one but 2 different young ladies. One adopted him on 6/28, the other one put in an application for his brother Tonka and another kitty (Bobbidi)!

It didn't take Nori long to find her forever home. Her new family couldn't resist Nori's cute looks and playful personality.
Domino one of our long term kitties charmed her way into a forever home. A lovely couple had come out to meet Lily - Domino however captured their hearts ! 5/13
Sweet Dandelion found her forever home on 5/17. Dandelion is a kitty that will require longer to adjust to a new home. Luckily for Dandelion, the wonderful young lady that adopted her is willing to give her plenty of time and love!
King Arthur found his forever home on 5/18. His new family has already called to rave about what a wonderful kitty he is :-) King Arthur was returned to us on 5/24 - turns out his new daddy had 3 massive asthma attacks in one morning.
Oreo was adopted by the wonderful couple who previously adopted our Pegasus! 5/29

Winter Solstice found his forever home on 4/3. I have to admit he knew she was 'his' person...and he made sure she realized he was going to be her cat!
Prince Carlos charmed his way into a forever family. They were so excited to take him home! 4/3.
Marabella and O'Malley found their forever home together. The family came in to meet Marabella but fell in love with O'Malley as well. They're going to get lots of attention in their new home! 4/3
Sweet Finnegan went home on 4/3 as well !
Beautiful Petunia (DLH Smoke 6 years young) was adopted on 4/7. Her new family met her at an adoptathon and just couldn't stop thinking about her!
Andy went home on 4/16 - he's got a new kitty buddy to play with "Otis" and his adoptive family just adores him!
Starz decided to go home this month too. He went to his forever home on 4/26.

Blue Moon went to his forever home just a few days after his brother Orange Sherbert. His new daddy tells us he's settled in extremely well! 3/1
Sweet Squat finally found her forever home on 3/1. She's an only kitty now and enjoying every bit of attention her new mommy is giving her! Squat was one of our original Hobbes House kitties so we are very happy she's found a wonderful loving home!
Raja is such a love of a kitten - we'd always shake our heads at adoptathons - just amazed nobody had adopted him. Finally his 'meant to be' people came in and met him...it was love at first sight I think! I'm so happy my handsome boy has a great home! 3/1
Black Dragon is another longer term foster - we've had him for just over a year. As many people know it's generally harder to adopt out black kitties and he was no exception. He's gone to a wonderful home that adopted from us previously (he adopted Clarinet). 3/2
Professor Plum found his new family and went home on 3/6. They just adore him and say he's wonderful with the kids!
Sweet London met her new family at her 2nd adoptathon. It was love at first sight! 3/13.
Colonel Mustard our special 'cataract' boy found his forever home! Boy do they LOVE him - I've gotten many e-mails with amusing Colonel Mustard stories and pictures since he went home on 3/15! What a character he is! Luckily he found a wonderful couple who just adored him and weren't 'scared off' by his possible future surgical needs.
Peter Pan met his new mommy at an adoptathon on 3/15 and went home on 3/16! She was looking for an outgoing kitty that would be great as an only and she fell for handsome Peter!
It didn't take long for Mariposa to charm her way into a home! 3/22

The "football boys" Emmitt, Troy and Calvin Cowboy all went to their (separate) forever homes on 2/2 as planned. Their adopters were all very excited to finally get to take their babies home (they had to wait for them to get neutered)
Shadow found a new home! A lovely couple came into one of our adoptathons and just fell in love with him. 2/16
Lord Grey went to his forever home on 2/20. They've already renamed him "Eli" after a NY Giants football player. His new mommy writes: "Eli is just awesome! He loves to rub up against our faces and give kisses. He was a very busy boy, checking everything out. He didn't hide once. He spent most of the night on the bed, alternating between sleep and rubbing his face in ours. There is no doubt that Eli will keep us busy- he's one curious and loving boy! We are absolutely in love with him! He is just so cool!"
Miss Scarlett and Prince Azure went to their forever home (together!) on 2/20. Their new daddy has already called to tell me how great they are doing! He said they adjusted very quickly and then he raved about how loving they are :-)
PollyAnna went to her forever home on 2/23. Her new 'parents' just can't wait to introduce her to their resident cat Oliver!
Belle went home on 2/23 - her new family was so excited to finally get to take her home!
Orange Sherbert went to his forever home on 2/26 - his new family just couldn't wait until the following weekend to take him home so they made quite the drive to come and get him during the week!

Gandalf the Gray has gone home again! His new family has been waiting for him - I'm told he's already part of their computer wallpaper :-) 1/4
Mimi was returned (resident cat was scared of her - no fault of her's according to her adopters who adored her). She came back on 1/5 and was adopted out the same day :-)
Bart has found a wonderful home! Little Arwen will be joining him after she's spayed. 1/7
Periwinkle - his new family just couldn't wait to take him home they showed up 20 minutes early :-) Luckily we were set up and ready for them! 1/12
Jean Luc finally went to his forever home. His new mommy was out of town for most of December. She was too excited to see her "Little Prince" again and take him home! 1/12
Speaking of Prince's - Prince Charming found his forever home on 1/12 as well. His new mommy came in to meet him and just fell in love (we didn't name him Prince Charming for nothing!)
Shadow found his perfect home on 1/12 as well. His new mommy came in and fell for him! It's the ideal home for handsome Shadow - he's going to be an only kitty and no doubt be spoiled rotten!
Stunning Stormy Weather had multiple applications in on him before his very first adoptathon. Needless to say he found his forever home first time out 1/12
Finally from 1/12 our sweet Darjeeling went home! I'm really going to miss having him as a foster he's such a love!!
Sweet 'special needs' Pegasus found her forever home. Her new family adores her and can't figure out why nobody snapped up this wonderful girl before! 1/15
Trooper went to his new forever home on 1/19. A lovely couple fell in love with him!
Satsuma has gone to live in Wilmington NC! His new mommy fell in love with him online and drive quite some way to come meet her handsome new boy! 1/19
Our beautiful Gracie found her forever home on 1/19. Her family came into meet Belle (who hadn't made it to the adoptahon) and fell in love with Gracie!
Sparkleworks came out to a grand total of one adoptathon and was adopted from it. This beautiful girl found her home so quickly we didn't even get her onto the web! 1/19
Pavarotti found his forever home over the weekend and went home officially on 1/21! They fell for him both online and in person :-)
Sweet Arwen has finally gone home ! She's had an application in on her forever but we had to wait until she was spayed and ready to go. She's joining our Bart in their new home. 1/22
Solita is another one of those kitties that never made it onto the web. We took her out to the weekends adoptathons and she found a home! 1/21
Morgan Le Faye one of our long term fosters has found her home! Morgan is one of those loves of an adult cat that everyone thinks is wonderful but nobody adopts. Her time came over the weekend when a family finally totally and completely fell in love with her :-) 1/22

Cats and Kittens Adopted in December

Long time foster Green Eggs and Ham went to her forever home on her birthday December 1st!! How great a birthday present is that for her? Her new mommy just adores her and wrote " She is just so precious. I can't believe no one adopted her before now. Thank you so much for taking such great care of her over the years!" Background info - Green Eggs has been my foster ever since I rescued her 2 years ago - giving her up was very hard but I just love her new mommy - I know she's gone to a great home!
Coney and Little Papaya went home together on 12/2 ! Their mommy met them and fell in love with them before they were even ready to be adopted (they hadn't been neutered yet). She's been waiting patiently to adopt them while preparing their new home (she just bought a house!).
Bilbo has moved to Georgia! His new family drove all the way up to meet him based on his picture and description. They said it was love at first sight. Believe me when I put him into her arms on 12/2 I could tell it was a match :-)
Baggins went home on 12/2 as well (he's Bilbo's brother). His new parents fell in love with him on 12/1 and just couldn't wait to take him home!
Along our "B" theme (Bilbo and Baggins) and our "there's a home out there for everyone theme" (most recently demonstrated by Green Eggs) - our Brigitta has gone home!! Her new mommy fell in love with her last weekend and then came in to apply for / adopt her only to find we hadn't brought her out on Sunday! So she went home on 12/4. Brigitta is going to be an only kitty which IMO she will enjoy!
Sweet Macy was recently returned but that didn't stop her from charming her way into a great home! She went out last weekend (Nov 24/25) for the first time since she's been back and sure enough someone fell in love with her and came in to adopt her this weekend! Macy went home on 12/3.
Personable short haired Gandalf had many suitors over the weekend. He found his forever home before his longer haired brother Aragorn which surprised us all. Just goes to show you that he has personality to spare! According to his new mommy, Gandalf might be getting a buddy in a few weeks after he settles into his new home! Went home 12/4. Update Gandalf's new mommy found out the day after she adopted him that her grandfather is dying :-( Since she's going to be spending as much time as possible with him and her family (out of state) she decided to return Gandalf. He came back on Sunday 12/9 and found a home that very day. He'll be going to his new home on 12/16! NEW UPDATE - the person who was supposed to adopt Gandalf has disappeared from the face of the earth (got to love those 'just stop calling' type break ups) so handsome Gandalf is again searching for his forever home. Will the 3rd time be the charm? Update - Gandalf has charmed his way into another family's heart - he's gone home again! 1/4
Aragorn found his forever home 10 minutes before the end of the weekend's adoptathons. His new mommy met him and fell in love. She had to wait to take him home until his new daddy could meet him. Technically it was a 'meet and greet' on Tuesday 12/4 but I knew it would turn into a go home so I filled all of the paperwork out in advance :-)
Sleeping Beauty went home on 12/7. Her new family is completely in love with her and just couldn't wait for the weekend to come to take her home!
Frodo found his forever home via the web - his new family applied for him on 12/1 and got to come out, meet him and take him home on 12/8! They report he is such a little love!
Halley (one of Sue's kittens) went home on 12/8 as well. I really like her new family!
Helix (another one of Sue's kittens) went home on 12/9 to his new family. I haven't heard how he's doing in his new home yet but I'm sure (knowing him) he's charmed them all!
Mimi was applied for on 12/1 and went home on 12/11. Her new family is very excited about their new addition! Update Mimi is coming back to us - their resident cat is scared of her. The adopters are very sad that it didn't work out but it's clear to them that he needs to be an only kitty. Update Mimi was adopted by another family on 1/5!
Darjeeling went home on 12/14. His new mommy waited patiently for him while we worked out an issue with his teeth. Now he's home for good! Update: Darjeeling has been returned. The adopters mom (to whom she's very close) has asthma. She met Darjeeling twice and had 2 asthma attacks. He was returned on 12/23 - his adopter, Lynn was in tears and so was I. She just loved him so much. I've assured her we will find him a wonderful home.
Jasmine after many months of adoptathons found her forever home! I spoke to her new mommy last night and she's settling in well. New mommy however has a cold :-( Adopted 12/15.
Arris and Twinkle Toes two of Sue's kittens both went to their separate forever homes on 12/19!
Ivy went home the day after Christmas! She was applied for before she was even spayed - such a lucky little girl!
Magenta went home on 12/29 - she's the first of the Blue's Clues kittens to go home but based on the amount of attention they've been receiving her siblings should follow soon!
Dandelion went home on 12/29 as well. She's a more reserved kitten. I think she's found the right home with a wonderful woman who will give her the time she needs to adjust and really feel at home.
Blue (another Blue's Clue's kitten) went home on 12/30. I've heard several times from her new mommy - they ADORE her!!!

Cats and Kittens Adopted in November

Trooper went home on 11/2 to his new family! He's going to be living with 2 small dogs and our own "Prince Charming"
Creamsicle went home on 11/3 - for right now she'll be an only kitty but her family might decide to adopt another kitten in the future. Her family had applied for a kitten several months ago and then decided to wait until they were more settled. The time arrived and they just fell in love with Creamsicle.
Briar Rose found her forever home on 11/3. Her new family is very excited (needless to say!)
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star went home on 11/3 - she's going to be living near NC State!
Cute Scooter went home on 11/4 as a result of an application from his very first adoptathon 11/3. Karen took in the application but since Scooter is one of Sue's beloved fosters she 'had' to meet his new family :-)
Star Light Star Bright went home on 11/4. His family met him last weekend, went home and thought about him and then put in an application mid week. I'm really happy everything worked out!
Beautiful Princess has gone to her forever home (11/9). She's going to be the lap kitty of the household!
Pompeii went home on 11/11. His new mommy met him last weekend and couldn't stop thinking about him so she put in an application during the week!
Millie has a new home too (11/11) her family drove quite a distance to come out and meet her - she was well worth the drive!
Prince Charming has gone to join his buddy Trooper in their forever home! 11/17

Phoenix wanted a home where he could be 'King of the Castle' and he got his holiday wish! He is now ruling the roost and his new mommy is completely enjoying catering to his 'needs'! 11/18

Along the theme of every kitty has a home out there somewhere Gershwin a long time foster of mine went home on 11/21 to a wonderful family who's going to give him lots of time to adjust to their household!
Boots a kitty who wanted to be an 'only kitty' charmed her way into a forever home! They adore her - she went home on 11/21 as well.
Piccolo went home with her new mommy on 11/25. Ironically Piccolo's new mommy had come in with her human daughter to help her find some kitties. The mom wasn't looking for a kitty for herself but she found herself in love with Piccolo!
Meanwhile her daughter (grown up) took a shine to Ragtime and Jazz - they went home together on 11/25!

Cats and Kittens Adopted in October

My beloved Applejack went home on October 6th. While I cried when he was adopted he couldn't have gone to a better home!
Sable went to her forever home to join "Twilight" (now called "Little Mo" ) on October 6th.
Gershwin went home as planned on October 6th as well. He's joining a family of 2 dogs and another cat! Update - Gershwin has come back to us. Like many cats and kittens he needed time to adjust with one on one time with his new owners and he didn't get that.
Finally on Saturday the 6th Topsy Turvy went to her forever home. She's going to be an only kitten - I have no doubt she'll bring a lot of joy into her new home!
Our 'opinionated' Ronnie found his forever home on Sunday 10/14. His new family is just thrilled with him!
Sweet Mara Jade found her forever home on Sunday the 14th! Her new family had been in to meet her before - clearly they could no longer resist her!!
Clarinet went to his forever home on October 20th. We all thought his sister Piccolo would go home first since everyone has been admiring her but nope - cute black and white Clarinet found his home first! His new daddy just adores him!
MoonShadow went to his forever home on October 21st. His new family came in and met him on October 20th, put in an application and then came back for him on the 21st. He's doing really well in his new home.

Cats and Kittens Adopted in September

General Li Shang went to his forever home on September 5th. Sweet General Li captured the hearts of his new mommies at his very first adoptathon!
Justine and her brother Martell also went to their forever home on September 5th - together! They are a bonded sibling pair that had to go home together - it takes longer to adopt pairs but we believe there is the 'right' forever home out there for every cat/ kitten in our program and they finally found theirs!
Aladdin went to his forever home on September 7th. A mere 2 days after his brother General Li Shang. They went to 2 different homes but I wasn't surprised at how quickly they were adopted ! Check out Aladdin's great update on our Adopted Kitties page!
Sparkleberry went home on September 8th! Her new mommy is a teacher and they are very excited to have this sweet girl in their house!
Vader went to his forever home on September 9th. The couple just fell in love with him!
Pearl finally got to go to her forever home (her new family was moving). They were clearly very excited to finally take her home! September 9th
Macy went to her forever home. Two little boys are going to grow up knowing this wonderful cat! September 9th
and finally on September 9th Elina had a mommy and sons fall in love with her. She's gone home with them - I do wonder who will run out of energy first the boys or Elina!
Mirage went home to her forever family on the 11th. They were very excited to finally take her home!
Claire went to her forever home! Her new family just LOVES her!
Sylvester (yes, another adult!) found his wonderful forever home! His new family came out specifically to meet him in the middle of the downpour on September 14th ! Needless to say they just adored him. No more adoptathons for Sylvester!
Ariel went to her forever home on Saturday September 15th! She's going to be an only kitty I just hope her new father can keep up with her :-)
Blackberry has a new family as of Monday September 17th. They saw him on Sunday and decided they couldn't resist him!
Millie went home on Friday September 21st after only one adoptathon! Update Millie is coming back to us.
On Saturday, September 22nd Thistle and Lilianna went to their separate forever homes! Also Twilight went to her forever home - she'll soon be joined by Sable.
Copper went home over the weekend!

Cats and Kittens Adopted in August

Bunny and Annaliese went home to their forever home on August 4th - together :-) Sadly Bunny and Annaliese have come back to us - they missed their foster mommy an awful lot. The wonderful family that adopted them took home another one of our kittens - Etta.
Capt Jack and Nona went home together too! Also on August 4th. Only one 'pirate' kitten left - Pearl !
On August 5th Mulan found her forever family!
Sahara and his brother Oasis went home on August 6th to 2 young girls who are completely in love with them. The parents are pretty 'smitten' too!
Cinderella went to her forever home on August 7th! Her new mommy was very very excited to adopt her!

Van Gogh went to his forever home on August 24th! I just loved his adopter and I'm happy one of our longer term cats has found a wonderful home!

SandStorm went home on July 4th! He is going to be living with a little dog named "Petey"! SandStorm's new mommy just adores him - it was clearly love when they met!
Quinn went home on July 14th. Her new family is 'in love' with her.
Slim went home on July 21st - initially on a trial basis but it appears he's found his forever home!!
Sunburst and Prince Eric both went home to their new families on July 24th!
Enchantress went home with her new family on July 28th. They have promised to treat her like the princess she is!
Sparrow has become the first of the 'pirate' kittens to find her forever home - she went home on Sunday July 29th. I know she's about to be a princess rather than a pirate!
Darjeeling and London Fog went to their (separate) forever homes on July 30th. London Fog is going to be an only kitty and have a canine friend. Her adopters have been eagerly waiting for just the right cat to come into their lives! Darjeeling is going to have a cat buddy and loads of human attention both of which he'll love!

A poem about Lilianna

Every day we get calls about stray cats and kittens (especially kittens this time of year). We try to take in as many as we physically can. One of our finders was kind and creative enough to write a poem about the kitten she helped rescue.

I once met a kitty who took me by surprise

With a furry black coat and big blue eyes.

My family took care of her until she was well

And so now I have a story to tell

When my dad first found her beyond our gate

She looked so helpless, we were almost too late.

But we didn�t give up hope, no we didn�t stop there,

For we could tell that she had time to spare.

She was so cold for the time she was outside,

So my mom wrapped her in a blanket and brought her inside.

We gave her special milk that some kitties need

And we all had fun taking turns to feed.

But when the time came we had to give her away

I was so sad but I knew she couldn�t stay

My mom found just the right person to give Lilianna to

She was our angel a nice lady named Sue!

I was surprised all this happened to me

And of course this story is true,

We don�t know what day she was born,

But her life was saved on Easter Morn�
